Same anoying wind noise on '17 a/c. Greatly reduced when leaning forward away from the door joint. Dealer added some door insulation..barely helped. May have to visit the Bently dealer.

Another fix as what I’ve been repeating myself is getting duratracs lol. Takes care of wind noise and howling diff both very common issues . With excessive tire noise, you hardly notice those noises anymore . Another upside to it is it looks good and great on the trails .

My truck is pretty much stock and it is very quiet 65 to 70 mph. I haven't noticed any wind noise and it's something I would definitely notice.

Really? Compared to an '01 Taco, this one if very quiet... Very. It's one of the reasons I got the wife approval.

    Yes.

Let me preface this by saying I like the truck mostly and certain things are excellent (economy, looks, power, function) to name a few. However I hate the transmission programming (hunts, upshifts early then downshift right away, etc.) AND I hate the wind noise. Mine had a defective driver window seal from day 1 that took several trips to the dealership to get them to believe me and finally get a guy who recognized that it wasn't right. It sounded like the driver window was cracked open an 1/8" or so. All the rear windows and the passenger window are dead quiet, just the driver window was bad. They replaced the seal in late 2018 and the truck was ok (not great... just ok... but livable... this truck should be better noise-wise than my other past trucks simply because it is more aerodynamic but it isn't better) no more window cracked open whoosh. I was so happy I sent the dealer nice feedback about the technician that resolved this.

Now a few weeks ago the same window seal has now started whistling (a worse noise than the whoosh). It is faint, I can temporarily stop it by laying on the up control of the power window but eventually the window tension relaxes and the whistle comes back. I am not sure what to do, I am concerned they will replace the seal then a few months later it will start being noisy again. I am tired of taking an entire day to take the truck in for any issue. So right now I am waiting for something else to pop up (i.e. a recall, a more serious defect etc.) and then I will ask them to once again look into the driver window seal.

U guys think it's a door seal or window? I wonder if you could chalk the seals and see where they're making less contact

Cut the vents full blast and soap it down. You will see bubbles coming out at different locations. You can make adjustments on the door and make them tighter. Chances are that's where the noise or leaks are coming from.

Cover about 40% of your doors and back wall with Noico or Dynamat, then cover them with thin closed cell foam. Over that hang MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl). I stuck some foam blocks around the rear vents so they would still work.

Truck is just a little louder than my Lexus RC350 now.

Everyone I have been in is super quiet. I thought mine was pretty quiet and I think it's even quieter with the in channel vent visors.

If it’s a noisy door seal, you can try tweaking the window frame a bit. Usually, I just put the window all the way down and stand between the half way open door and truck. Then I put my hip against the door and gently pull the corner of the door window frame towards me a bit at a time. Just be careful because it doesn’t take much force on some vehicles.

Not the whole door, just the top half; the window frame.
I owned a tow truck company and occasionally one of my employees would do a lock-out service and open up too much of a gap between the top of the window frame and the vehicle. I’d get a call the next day from the customer complaining about wind noise that wasn’t there before the service. 99% of the time, bending the window frame in a bit fixed the noise. No permanent damage, just a slight tweak.
I don’t have a wind noise prob with my Tacoma, but I thought it’s worth mentioning......

Huh. I would have never imagined that it'd be possible to tweak the door frame like that. I guess I thought it'd be a little sturdier. You learn something new everyday (well, hopefully).

Sorry if this is out of place for this thread but in the spirit of annoying noise making.. does anyones 3rd gen truck make a "click.. click" sound when you have your wipers in the first setting?

my truck has the wind noise also. I seen in a thread somewhere that a guy put some 1/4 tubing behind the seal and that fixed it. Seems like a simple solution, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

About the clicking wipers, mine did that also. Turned out the wiper was just sliding out of the frame just a bit and the wiper frame was moving. 3 second fix once I seen what it was and remembered to do it after 2 weeks of annoyance as I only thought about it when I was driving in the rain and totally forgot when parked haha.

Mine was pretty quite until I put a roof rack on it.... Now it sounds like there's an airplane above you all the time going down the highway. Roof isn't as sound-deadened as I expected

Same sound issue I have posted about as well. Thought it was door seal, dealership fixed, but still had the sound. It’s an aggravating sound when the music isn’t on.

Ive honed in on it to where the mirror is. I believe wind is either going in some small channel in the mirror or deflecting off it and hitting the door.

I bought a Prinsu rack and that seemed to remove that noise a little. Either that or it added wind noise and now I can’t hear it.

I’ve tried filling a lot of different gaps on the windshield, covering with tape just to see, but found no fix.

    Edit: side view mirror
