Yup. Def will be back, but the 2.5 hour ride up there is boring as fuck. I quickly remembered why I got into trying to learn to stunt and off the streets. So easily bored riding highways/even semi twisty roads.

It's new, model year 17 or 18. He got a wicked deal on it.

    Nice bike! btw

That's how I feel every time I ride my F4i. The slightly relaxed riding position and couch/banana seat is so comfortable compared to my RR.

Do it. Buy the bike, ride it for a couple of years, sell it for the same price or slightly less. You'll lose at most a few hundred dollars for years of fun and experience.

    Is it the ABS model?

Sweet, always loved gixxers. Thanks man!

You and your friend should do a track day if you haven't already, that's where all the fun is at on these sportbikes.

I say do it, and you should take my advice as I'm from the internet. Lol.

No really, I'm serious. What is there to lose?

Look to see if there are any track day organizations near you. They'll usually offer instruction (and prep guides) at a discount for first time track day riders. It's a hell of a lot of fun and you will learn more in a day or weekend of track riding than you will in six months or more riding on the streets.

I still miss my CBR1k, sportbike power is without equal. My back, however, is glad I'm sticking to my EX500R, as lowered as the bars may be.

The road I commute to work on is about to be chip sealed. For anyone who's had to deal with this, how long before you can safely ride on it? It is a hilly, curvy road. I'm not too happy about it.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Good God. Last summer I did a trip with my wife and we hit a stretch of highway that had just been sealed and they had put that pea gravel over it. I swear it was single lane both ways for 20 miles and it was sketchy as hell. Like riding on marbles. And some biatch got between us and was riding my ass. I've never been so stressed out and pissed while riding.

Yeah, and it's the road I ride every day to work. I can go another route, but time wise it will take twice as long and has a lot more traffic to deal with.

Oh boy PA DOT does that here also. To answer your question "how long before you can safely ride on it"...it all depends on how thick they lay on the top coat and how well travelled the road is. The more the road is travelled the shorter the time...and visa versa.
I know this doesn't answer your question but if you ever travel that road on 4 wheels you'll be able to tell when it's good to take your bike.
The worst part is going to be the middle of the lane(s) and the shoulder of the road.

You will out grow that 300 in no time. I would at least look for a Ninja 400 or CBR500R. If you are set on a 300, check out the KTM RC390.

I had an old Honda nighthawk 250 which I felt like the power was alright but I was comfortable on it. Ive crashed a bike so after that im very skeptical about buying a powerful bike. I think a 300 would suit me for a while. I have no plans on driving fast.

A 300 sounds like a good choice then, and you'll have no problem selling it if you change your mind and want something bigger.

They're pretty capable in the right hands!

Buy it, keep it clean, ride it for a few years, then sell it for what you paid for it when you're done with it. You'll love it, those 300's aren't fast but they're fun.
