Well, I just spent the past hour or so reading almost every post in this thread. I’m still on the fence on doing this myself or paying to have someone do it. I’m doing it simply for looks, just the bhlm not for new lighting. If it’s basically just a matter of understanding the process and taking my sweet time prying it apart so stuff doesn’t break and I get all the permaseal out, I think I’ll do it. Any opinions? I know a lot of people love the look but hated the process.

I don't consider myself a headlight junkie :anonymous: but I like to tinker and wanted something different.

If you're ok with prying them apart and scraping permaseal out the rest should be gravy.

Need more output pics in here. This is tuned rx350's with the sti-r lenses and osram CBI bulbs at 35w. Photo shows it a little more blue than it really is.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Looks great. Even with all the newer, better projectors coming out I'm still very impressed with the tuned and clear lens RX350's output, cutoffs and its direct fit.

Yeah they're tough to beat, great width and I love the slope and OEM quality/reliability. The direct bolt in makes em even cooler lol.

You stick washers between the projector bowl and the lens to get more color. But too much, you'll end up with bad lighting performance and not a sharp cutoff.

Well, I’m gonna go for it. Got what I need except I’m gonna pick up Krylon Fusion in Matte Black, I didn’t realize my local Lowe’s had it. Wish me luck!

I see everybody favors the krylon fusion in matte. Anybody tried using this rustoleum?

Well, it has begun. Getting ready to get them in the oven here soon :annoyed: any final tips or pointers?

Good luck, it's a battle. Just know that the black plastic bodies are going to melt a little. Also, keep the lenses super clean inside. Rinse them with distilled water and let them air dry. DON'T touch the inside of the lenses, it's soft and scratches very easily.

Update on my BHLM. I was defeated. I tried for 2 hours to get my first headlight apart and was not making headway. So it just wasn’t meant to be for me I suppose. I ended up using a couple inches of the morimoto retro rubber to seal the only part I managed to get some of the permaseal out of and put silicon over top. Super bummed and annoyed that I couldn’t get it.

Don't give up, one lamp took 3 visits to the oven. It will give little each time and you have the right tools to finish.

Check and check, still wasn’t having any luck. So I’d rather not get frustrated and end up breaking it.

My oven temp settings were 260 degrees for 15min, and 10 min each for the last two trips.
