As a hot head I'm surprised you keep your sauce in the fridge. Mine stays on the counter.

Had a bottle of the bomb about 5 years ago. Hot as hell but a pretty shitty taste IMO.

 

Ok. That's something that I have eaten before, so I can see that. I was thinking about doing for myself, but toning it down and using a habanero.

 

There's a few bottles we leave out, but most that are open are kept cold. Not really sure why, other than an attempt to keep counters clutter-free.
My bottles at work, and even our camping supply all stay at room temperature...
We haven't tried Da Bomb yet, but really only got it to see how bad it really is. Flavor is certainly a driving factor over heat for the sake of heat.

 

I've got a bottle of honey at work that's infused with a couple ghost peppers; it's very mild and kinda disappointing. I may add some other varieties to it and see how it does.

 

Crack it open and try it. Then report back. everyone I gave it to agreed. Good for some drops in chili or likewise to generate heat but other than that, meh.

 

Hmmm... it's actually not even as spicy as Iexpected.

They both have great flavor, so we use them frequently, but with Mexican food we'll usually add something with a bit more kick.

Eh, it's not completely horrid, but I'm not a huge fan of vinegar-based sauces. After seeing many people squawk at it on Hot Ones, I expected more of a throat kick and rancid flavor. Maybe a higher dose intensifies the bad flavor everyone talks about, but I didn't hate it with the small amounts I tried last night. I'll have to give it a shot with actual food soon, and not just on the finger-tip and on a couple chips.

 

Ive had that before...not really that great IMO.

That splined section looks to be the first failure point.

 

The pot-metal splined shaft is very proficient at destroying the soft plastic knob's internal splines (not pictured), primarily caused by the cheaply made internal pot-metal cog mechanism that fits poorly and binds easily inside the black housing, primarily caused by a rather stiff, ill-conceived window attachment design. Contributing factor is the thin, flexible (i.e., flimsy) second half of the actuator arms, which bend easily (as you can see on the right) when performing a job outside their design envelope.
