Okay tire wheel question

First yes I looked at the threads on wheels.

I have an 04 xterra with an almost new set of yoko 265/70/16 tires (will be getting rid of the xterra ) . Is there a late model stock wheel that fits a 95 that will work with our hubs and offset and 16 inch tires? The reason I want stock is I am cheap and I know people who upgrade their wheels and sell the stockers reasonably cheap. I hate to get rid of the xterra with 600 bucks in tires on it.

Will the tire even fit the 95 with out a lift? The yokos are roughly 3 inches taller, which works out to 10 inches or so more circumference. Or about 13 % more, I know this will throw off the speedo and gearing, how bad is this difference in real world driving?

 

Is your 95 a pickup or Tacoma? Production split the year. If it is a Tacoma, there are readily available 16” 1st Gen factory Tacoma wheels, very common in the 01-04 range and possibly earlier. I think they’ll fit the pickup too but not sure on offset.

If your truck is a 4wd it shouldn’t have issues clearing the 265/70R16s.

Also do you have a clue how bad the bigger tire will mess with driveablitly?

 

I did it on my 94 pickup and my 03 Tacoma. Be sure to use a C-load tire or P-load if street only and affect on drivability will be minimal. Heavy E-loads will be more noticeable.

SL is standard load, effectively the same as P, which is passenger tire. They are the lightest tire family which will affect drivability the least.

 

16 inch wheels were an option (by 2002 anyhow)... my truck had 16 wheels, and I could
see on the "vehicle specification details" sheet that I downloaded from Toyota with my vin
that it came upgraded that way. Perhaps you can download your info from Toyota...

I recently obtained, for practically the same cost as a new set of tires, a new set of
tire/wheel take-offs from a 2018 SR5 with 20 miles on them. I think driveability
with the new set of street-oriented tires is great...

I am mostly worried about the size difference. As the tires are 3 inches taller.

 

I have take off 3rd gen TRD off road tires in P265/70R16 on my 00 extra cab v6 4wd. You'll be fine with V6 and 5speed. Chances are you have 4.10 rear end.
