Does this look like a leaky diff? It’s not really wet around it, and I’ve never seen an oil spot under the truck. It just seems suspect.314DF5DD-0C2E-4A09-B960-15207EB97D56.jpg4FE95DAA-0671-4742-A9CA-EC447DEE636C.jpg

I saw that a long time ago, but I don’t think my truck was included. I remember checking immediately because my Jeep bust a seal one time and that got ugly.

    The recall was for 2016 & 2017.

    Yours is a 2017.

    And it's leaking.

Here's the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration's (i.e. Federal Government) orders for your truck:

    https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RCRIT-17V285-6633.pdf

Toyota eventually came up with a repair. So your truck should get fixed.

/Technically/ that may be considered a "seep" which a car manufacturer typically wouldn't pay a dealer to fix.

That said, since Yota has a TSB on it, I'm sure they'll fix it for ya

Doesn’t matter if it was included or not. I have a thread about mine that wasn’t included either and it was fixed not once but twice.

Mine wasn't half that bad and I took it to the dealer and they agreed to fix it no questions asked.

So just as I thought, it was not covered under that recall. However, it’s still under warranty so they are fixing it anyways.

My diff looked like the OP seeping and today when I brought it up during the free 25,000 mile service they just cleaned it up and retorqued the bolts. Time will tell if that holds up.

It's like it took some intern a few months to discover gaskets and rtv.

Mine was leaking a bit worse and is also not part of the recall, but take it to the dealer. It should be warranty anyways, depending on your mileage of course. I had mine tightened up and no more problems for about a year and a half now.

My dealer didn't even try to clean mine. In pics I posted already in this thread, but they noted on the paperwork that there was no evidence of a leak... I got it sorted, but it took being very firm in the service department and a call to the GM. Flipside is I pretty much get whatever I need now from them.

They retorqued my bolts and cleaned it up at 25k. Now at 28k it looks like this.D26B761C-148D-4721-9F44-DB2709C3F55C.jpg
