I love tilt shift pics, but the actual lenses are crazy expensive. I haven't tried messing with it yet in post op. Good job on the pics guys!

If you're into landscapes, another thing you can do with the TS is shift the lens to create an almost 4x5 looking image. Kinda cool. Canon makes several different TS lenses. Nikon has an almost similar line.

When you use this process, you simply shift the lens "down", make an exposure then shift "up", overlapping the first image, and make another exposure. Using PS, combine the images for some pretty spectacular results.

    Read more here.

nice pics, but shift the "tilt" to horizontal for the "miniature" look (if that is what you are going for)

Cool, I'm going to try this. I'm self-taught in photoshop though so I don't use masks. I would just make a copy, render some blur (usually I use median but I'll try lens like in the tutorial) and then use paths or simply the eraser tool and blending properties to brush away my blurred top layer as needed.

I really need to take an "intro to masks" class, lol.

    there ya go
    looks good.

try a couple with a little increase in color intensity...kind of lends to the "fake-ness" of it

Awesome ones Colin, you got it down! What do you use to do the effect? I have just been using the Gausian Blur and the gradient tool on GIMP

I use the gradient tool and lens blur, then mess with the saturation/contrast a little.
