Well, I ran Bilsteins on factory coils on my 06 Taco, so I know those work well. Those same shocks are still on my truck and it still rides great. Just looking for a little more lift and a little more flex this time, and I have all the time in the world to do my research!

Yes, both of the rear shocks mentioned are factory length or very close to it. I think they do this in order to not strain the factory brake lines.

B110 are the shocks for the tundra 6” lift I believe. That’s what I have.

Someone here in the Alabama thread, recommended me a full suspension kit from Headstrong with the 5100/887 coils for the front, Dakar pack/bushings/ubolts, CB drop kit, extended rear shocks and extended brake lines. I'm leaning towards this kit until someone convinces me otherwise.

5160s don’t have much more travel. 5100s with Dakars get some pretty nice flex. I’m running them with an AAL and my truck flexes just as much as most folks that have Dakars because they are limited by their shock. I will have a couple more inches of droop once the Dakars go on. I am happy with their performance. You will need extended brake lines and an extended bump stop to run them safely.

That’s about the best setup you can get outside of going mid travel with extended travel coilovers in the front.

Thanks for another verification! It's the best suspension lift for my current budget right now and it comes out to around $1300. The full OME kit is also around $1300, but I've had good luck with the Billies on my other truck, so I think I'll just stick to the Bilstein kit.

Which coils you thinking about? It's either the 885s or the 887s for me.

I also have 5100 struts in the front, but with 886 coils. I beat on them and they take it like a champ. What your describing is the exact setup I have minus the leaf pack and different coils.

    Don’t forget upper control arms

Do I really need them? The 887 coils are only supposed to give me about 2" of lift in the front and the medium dakar pack will give me 2" in the rear as well, so I can maintain the factory rake, in case I tow the boat/trailer/jet skiis. I heard as long as you keep the lift 2" and under, no need for UCAs.

I'm gonna try and stay 2" and under and move up to either a 265/70/17 or 255/75/17 tire. Though I'm not sure the latter would fit on my 9" wide rims.

The UCAs Have increased caster built in that allows for a better alignment after the lift.

My answer is yes, you really need them. Others will say you can get away without them, but you will be maxing our the factory ball joint at droop.

I'll have to do more research then! My '06 had the Billies on the highest notch for 2" of lift and I kept the factory UCAs and then aligned just fine.

Mark and I are gonna come buy you some beer/steaks/whatever for a mod day! I'll just have HS assemble the struts/coils, so all I gotta do is pull the factory ones out and install the new assemblies. I've been watching enough YT vids to finally build some confidence in doing the complete lift myself and maybe another competent person who's installed a lift before.

A hundred bucks a month and in a year, your lift is paid for! I've hooked buddies up like this before. If you don't pay, I'll just come cut your drive shafts in half with a sawzall...
