5.5 quarts puts me right in the middle of the dipstick when I change my oil and filter. :notsure:

I'd send an oil sample to Blackstone with this next oil change, pull the plugs and inspect them, compression test, and then have someone do a leak down if I was still coming up with nothing.

    Too few to list.
Oil burning was a common issue on Toyota's 2AZ-FE (2.0L) engine but this is the first I've come across on here for the 1GR. In the 2.0L, Toyota deemed it normal to burn less than a quart in a 1200 miles. Over a quart then they performed a TSB/Warranty enhancement that replaced the piston assembly for the most part and sleeves on some as well. Basically the piston/rings were burning the oil.

I had the same problem and it was the rings. New (remanufactured) Jasper engine doing the same exact thing.

Edit: It’s most like escaping from the tailpipe. Mine never smoked. Now I need to replace the cats because they’ve been saturated with said oil.
