In the MT Update thread for the TSB, no one reported a successful update with anything but Tactrix. A couple folks tried cheap and mid-priced adapters and got communication errors just trying to do customizations.

    Well that does it! :D

Older OVT orders came with the dongle as a security device as well as the Tactrix adapter. This required two free USB ports to install the tune. The new Toyota Flash program and a REG key locks to the tuning computer's system ID eliminates the dongle.

Now, that flash program, plus some other neat features, are combined in FlashManager for one-stop tuning.

Yes, definitely the old versus the new. There are advantages to each, but I am content being, errrrm, dongless. o_O

It all depends where you store it. 1hp if it is in your pants. 15hp if it hangs from the mirror.

Absolutely not,I for one appreciate your posts, they are more than reasonable, logical and informative.
As for your issues,I am seing similar ones in my truck but am very busy and lazy to pinpoint them.HENCE THE APRECIATION!
Though I am very curious to see what gets cleaned up after removing the rev hang and the ACIS fix.

Just received registry file from Mat today... Flashed my truck at work and I do not get off for a few more hours to actually drive the thing.

My Flash: (What I Flashed To)
    Dongle: (no)
    Year: (2017)
ECU Calibration: (04B12 - MT) [? what is the differance between 04B12 and 13, I ran the Flash Utility and mine Identified as 04B12]
Tune Version: (1.05) [? 1.05.1 and 2.0.X.EROM was available as well. Are one of those better than 1.05 I flashed to?]
Octane: (93) [I always run 93 in everything I own but from what I have read the 91 Octane might run better with my 93 octane hmm]
    Options: (FOB)

Only install what your ECU identifies as. 04B12 is the stock ECU tune. 04B13 is after a TSB is applied.

We only have 1.05 software at the moment. 1.05.1 is coming and 2.0 will come much later.

Someone asked earlier but no one responded. Is the rev hang eliminated? How is the throttle response with the tune? Thanks

For me, rev hang was lessened a bit with the TSB tune (TSB-0058-18 or TSB-0125-18). I noticed no change when going to OVT. That said, Mat is working on tweaking rev hang. He said that he identified the code in recent RAM dumps. We will see what happens when the next version is released.

This is exactly how my truck acts, like a cylinder is intermittently dropping offline. This usually happens under moderate to hard acceleration and is most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear. The most frustrating thing about it is that it's like the truck is teasing you by giving little glimpses of what it is really capable of. If this is the VVT kicking fluctuating between Atkinson and Otto, why not kill the Atkinson programming completely? I am running the 91 FOB tune, wish it was truly Otto and not just modified Otto with remnants of Atkinson cycle still present.

it should be addressed in the next MT release. Mat said a week or so ago he was close to having that wrapped up for the next MT release

Our scion tunes were developed more than 2 years ago. Not something we are working on updating.

New corolla is toyota UDS ecu platform which we are studying for development.

As we posted in the main thread we are posting updates for the 3rd Gen, bug fixes, etc on a monthly basis, with releases every single month this year so far.

Just because we haven't posted our 2.0 update or update someone is specifically looking for, doesn't mean we are not doing it.

Last time when we did MT updates AT guys were made and now it's flipped. Always something.

LOL it is always something, but I'm sure the vast majority of your customers including myself are grateful that you're making the effort to make lemonade out of the lemons that toyota sold us. Of course the auto guys would be that much closer to Taco bliss if they had started with an mt:D:burnrubber:
