Icon rxt or Deaver U402 leaf springs

I like mine! Also paired with Kings. I'm about to redo the rear setup though... Should be able to keep the leaf pack though

Shock relocation, Archive Hammer Hangers, and King 2.5x14 shocks. I have the EXTs w/ adjusters but you don't gain any travel. Great ride though

How much constant weight do you run in your truck? Im about 200 lbs and trying to deiced between option 1 and 2. Im not really looking for much (if any) lift because I like the level rake, but obviously want to be able to travel rough roads with several hundred pounds in the back

 

ICON rxt option 2 works well for me. Solid on road, takes well the bumps off road at ~40 mphs. I have them paired with adjustable extended kings so I can play around with the settings a little bit.

Just towed with it recently and it didn't sag too bad, factory leafs would sag with just a big cooler and some camping gear.

 

I would definitely try option 2, I have about 200 lbs constant weight with sliders, hilift, maxtrax, etc and they ride great. Lift is 1” to 1.5”, sags another 1/2” to 1” when loaded with camping gear. Option 1 would be less lift but probably too soft with added weight.

 

So Deavers J66, U402 Stage 1, RXT’s or Dakar’s if you are not running a load? Which is smoothest?

 

probably RXT in config 1, definitely not Dakars, those are the only two I have personal experience with.

 

Honestly if 200lbs is all you’ll ever have then you’re fine on option 1. I loaded the bed with 15 bags of wet mulch two weeks ago (500lbs or so) when i had it on option 1.. it sagged to factory height or maybe lower.. ultimately i went to option 2 even though i drive empty most of the time i do load up with 800lbs of coolers, ice and fishing gear from time to time. Option 2 handles the weight better but is noticeably firmer (but still smooth) empty. Hope that helps

 

It does yeah. Id say Im running about 200 lbs constant now that I have the rack and RTT, plus all the recovery gear that lives in the truck full time. But I definitely add another 100 - 200 lbs of extra shit when camping

 

Can’t compare but i can say RXT option 1 is very smooth on option 1 unloaded..

 

I run deaver u402’s in a stage one on some fox 2.5’s. And I have to say they ride like butter, I carry about 100lbs in the bed and and extra 200lbs with HC, tire + cans and they hold great. I tried the leafs out before installing HC and they weren’t too stiff but did have noticeable more rake.

 

How much lift did you end up with in the rear with the extra 200-300 lbs? How is the ride when more weight is added? I have RXT in config 2 now and spring rate seems fine but I would like more lift to allow for more bump travel. Do you think these springs would be a good option for a normal load of ~250 lbs and up to 500 lbs when camping etc?

 

I ended up getting around 2” of lift with about 300lbs back there at all times. I’ve probably put a max of 400lbs back there overall and the leafs handle just as they did with no weight. Ive noticed that the more weight I toss back there they seem to be a lil more plush and less bouncy. But keep in mind with a swingout and all that weight back there behind the axle it’s always a lil bouncier than it would be without. And I think the 200-300lb constant load on these leafs is when they’re at their prime. And up to 500lb will work too, I haven’t noticed these things sag at all. I know they make an additional leaf to increase the weight capacity but couldn’t see myself needing it even with 400lbs back there, they ride plush overall

 

My RXTs have started getting pretty squeaky after 5ish months. I need to figure out how to fix that.

which do you guys think would provide the most droop?
I now there are other factors at play, but if we are solely talking about leafs, which would be the best to droop?
Im currently on Dakar's medium but wouldn't mind upgrading.

 

Not sure if one pack would allow any more droop than the other. Correct me if I’m wrong but, I think the limiting down travel factor would ultimately be the shock.
