    **********SOLD*******************

For sale is my 2000 Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab TRD Off-Road/Supercharged V6 5-speed manual 4x4 with 186k miles. I am the original owner and have treated this truck like my baby since new, receiving attentive maintenance with only Toyota parts (unless listed elsewhere) and driven with love for the lifetime of the truck. I’m not a betting man but I will say this is the cleanest, most rust-free original 1st gen Tacoma out there with the same amount of miles. I never wanted to part with it and still don’t, but a bigger double cab Tacoma is what our family needs and has gotten. If the new truck is half as good as this one is, I'll be a happy camper.

Truck was purchased new from McCoy Motors in Flagstaff, AZ 11/22/99 and will include a 6” thick folder of maintenance and mod receipts, as well as the original window sticker, a 2000 Tacoma sales brochure, and a detailed spread sheet listing all maintenance and mods since new. Of course, Colorado title is clean, in my name and ready to be transferred. Truck spent its first 6 years in sunny Flagstaff and since in sunny Durango, a rust-free Southwest truck its whole life.

    Motor:

5VZ-FE 3.4L DOHC V6 running Toyota oil filters since new, oil changed to Mobil 1 synthetic at/since 100k. Oil changed every 3-4k miles. Timing belt and water pump done at 88k and 153k.

1st Gen (grey) TRD Supercharged at 153k. S/C Fully rebuilt then, nosecone professionally rebuilt recently, oil replaced several times since.

    Toyota OEM 305cc Supra injectors

    Walbro 190 fuel pump

    Innovate digital AFR gauge

Denso Iridium 2-step cooler spark plugs

180 Degree thermostat flushed with Toyota Red Coolant at 173k miles

    TRD radiator cap

    URD Billet crank pulley

Newer custom Magnaflow 409 stainless cat-back exhaust

Amsoil foam air filter with HPS Silicone resonator delete and closed deckplate since supercharged (I would argue this is the best sealing and performing air filter/intake for this application)

Newer Optima Yellow Top deep cycle battery (new 4/2017)

Truck is 50 state emissions compliant and running stock cat and emissions equipment.

Sale includes a big box of 5VZ-FE take off parts including the stock intake manifold, brackets, hardware and a new gasket so you can remove the supercharger if necessary and a bunch more parts from the truck’s lifetime with me.

    Drivetrain and Suspension:

TRD rear e-Locker. Original 4.10 gears

Manual 5-spd. Manual J-shift transfer case. Both shift perfectly. No switches or electronics to go out here.

Original clutch. Yes…this truck was driven lightly and babied. Clutch shows no signs of needing replacement anytime soon.

Manual hub conversion using all Toyota parts (bearings, seals, Aisin hubs, etc) except Napa Gold Lifetime warrantied CV’s.

Powerstop front Tundra S13WL big brake upgrade with slotted and cross drilled rotors and Wheeler's stainless brake lines at all corners

Newer Napa Gold steering rack with Energy Suspension urethane bushings (another one of the few wear parts that is not a Toyota part due to Napa’s lifetime warranty).

Donahoe Racing Extended 2.5” Coilvers with 700lb 14” springs (Donahoe’s technology/name was bought out by ICON, so these are effectively ICON coilovers). 600lb springs included with sale.

    Camburg Uni-ball UCA’s

Deaver franken leaf pack, All-Pro greaseable shackles and Bilstein 6100 shocks

16” Toyota wheels powdercoated satin black running BFG KO 285/75/R16 All Terrain tires (tires will need replacing sooner than later but I will leave the tire decision and size up to the new owner)

    Body:

Elite Off-road winch bumper with LED ditch lights wired to run with the high beams

Cyclops AS LED headlight bulbs (original bulbs included)

Custom high clearance rear bumper with integrated high clearance hitch and reverse light

Rhinolined bed (probably the first thing that I did to this truck when brand new so bed was protected from new and coating has held up well all these years).

Kenwood CD/MP3 Exceleon X397 stereo with Kicker speakers/tweeters and 4Runner tweeter mod

Shiny Natural White (056) paint waxed minimum 2 times a year since new and washed religiously

Innovation cab-high camper shell with carpet headliner. Recently painted with 056 Natural White single stage acrylic. Looks good!

Lots of recent work including new Toyota front wheel bearings, seals, tie rod ends, lower ball joints, alignment, #1 and #2 e-brake cable, Toyota starter, Mobil 1 synthetic fluids in all 3 gear boxes and standard Valvoline in the manual trans (syncros like dino oil better), motor oil recently changed with Mobil 1 Synthetic/Toyota high-capacity filter. Truck has either been serviced by Toyota ASE certified techs/dealers or me since new. Although driver seat is worn on the entrance spot (expertly fixed and holding), the interior is in amazing shape for this year and I would argue it’s the cleanest 1st gen Tacoma out there. Truck has always received lots of love, care and attention including frequent waxing and interior detailing, and it shows. Small front end collision with a deer 7 years ago was professionally fixed by my friends at Star Collision in Farmington, NM. Otherwise, very few dents and scratches and a couple paint chips but paint and body shine and show well and looks like a new truck from a few feet away. This was an Arizona truck the first 6 years of its life, then a SW Colorado truck for the rest. Underbody coated and pressure washed religiously since new so no rust. All maintenance has been done on or before schedule and truck needs nothing other than some new tires sometime in the near future. It’s a nearly 20 year old truck and will need love and care with the usual required maintenance in the future, but with that said, I would not hesitate to take the truck to Alaska or Baja Mexico as it sits. All interior functions work (power locks, power windows, lights, gauges, A/C blows super-cold, heater blows hot, tranny and transfer case shift smoothly, locker engages as new, truck runs straight and smooth, exhaust is a little rowdy at WOT but I can include the take-off exhaust, too.

Negatives: the truck rides firm without weight as it was built to add a 4WC/Habitat, so if running as pictured, I would likely pull a leaf from the rear leaf pack and new owner can switch to the 600lb coil springs for the front included with sale. Original power steering pump will do a 1 second long squeak on cold startup every now and then, but works fine and there’s no reason to replace it anytime soon. Fresh fluid last fall yielded no reason for concern while inspecting the old fluid. Aside from that, the truck is amazingly clean and beautiful and I get comments on that all the time. It towed a jet ski once, a 4x6 Uhaul trailer to Montana once but has led a pretty easy life with me. Mostly highway miles, no real wheeling outside of occasional Forest Roads. We’ve beat up our other cars for our camping and road trips and saved this one for good; hence the low miles and condition.

It’s said in 4 sale ads all the time, but I will be very sad to see this truck go (ask my wife and neighbors!). It’s been a part of my life for so long and never, ever let me down in any way. It looks good, it drives good, it’s reliable, capable and pulls the hill up to my house better than our newer vehicles. I’m kicking myself as I type this, but our family’s needs are changing and this truck needs a new home. Price reflects these feelings, but 1st gen Tacoma’s fetch high prices for a reason: they are damn good vehicles. Please don’t waste my time with low offers. Tacoma World gets it first; not for sale anywhere else for a little while.

    Asking $13,499

Can help with fly and drives or am open to delivery. Also, I'm going to the Overland Expo in Flagstaff in a couple weeks so can meet you there.

Pics were taken last fall (but there's a few updated pics in there too, mainly close-ups of paint wear, dents, etc).

Cash received, oil draining for a Mobil 1 change and preparing to deliver it to the new owner, a Tacoma World forum member, at the Overland Expo West this weekend.

In the 19 and a half years I've owned this truck, I just can't imagine a better vehicle. It's powerful, capable, reliable, comfortable, and I still turn around to look at it when I park it. Definitely feeling some mixed emotions right now, but I hope it's as good of a truck for its new owner as it was for me. Here's to another 20 years of trouble-free ownership.

I know it sounds a bit cliché but I can assure you it’s going to a great home and will be treated like the gem that it is. Can’t wait to show it off!! And, yeah I’m certain I’ll look back when I park it too. In 20 years I’m sure it will be one of only a handful of low mileage, 5speed, supercharged, 2 owner, fully documented Tacoma Xtra Cabs in the nation.

I'm certain it couldn't be going to a better home, Jim. It may sound silly to some, but for me, this was more about finding the right "fit" than it was about freeing up room in the fleet. Really glad it's going to you.

    Thanks for the kind words...
Looks like my wife will be joining me on this little adventure. She wants to see what all the fuss is about over a 20 year old truck

Same reason for selling, same feelings about selling, same wheels on the old truck (my favorite of that generation) and we even got the same color on the new DCLB trucks (1D6 SSM). Thanks for posting. Misery loves company. :pout:
