What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Not sure how much it will help. But physics say heat goes up. Adding more holes for it to rise out of isn't going to hurt anything.

Also physics say when heat goes up, it's pulling cooler air to replace it.

 

Have you found any vents that you like yet? I still haven't found any that scream buy me lol

 

Just got this sent to me from the welding shop

 

280zx vents look badass, seen em used on Jeep's and other cars

 

I don't think a scoop would help as much as vents facing the cab would. The fan already pulls air into the engine bay. Having the vents facing the cab should help draw more air out. This is my theory at least.

 

And I'd bet you it's largely correct. Cowl induction and and utilizing the low pressure zone would help pull the heat out since it should already be having a large amount rammed in the front.

 

I'm still looking. Nothing is screaming at me. But I am looking at these. I think something like this would work.

Do you have a turbo blanket that fits well? Cause that helps the most of anything and a good down pipe heat shield.

Or you could go early Z31 style haha

Yes, it's not a top dollar one but does its job. The downpipe is wrapped too. Unfortunately my air water cooler is going to be sitting above the downpipe. I'll add a heat shield but figure any chance of letting heat out is better than none.

 

wth, above the down pipe? why? You should be able to cut up your grill and core support to get a FMIC in there.

Possibly. Im sure someone makes a FFIM for the 3rz. Probably not cheap though.

Always though it would be cool to see a 5vz one made, though I don't think theres room for one on the 5vz

 

No other place to fit it. Going A/W to reduce the charge pipe length.

 

May not do much, but it will pull a vacuum of cooler air through in theory. And it would be cool looking.

 

Really? I think there is on an 01-04 grill. YOu literally have to cut it to pieces and the IC becomes the "satoshi" look. I've seen it done before..trying to find the photo..

Should clear even with a winch and such. Won't be a big one but should still help.

 

Vents will help for sure, the biggest thing is the right placement and facing direction. That can be harder to determine without a way to visualize it
