@KTJO 4x4 What interface are you using to connect all of your cameras to the head unit?

I am assuming they are activated by turn signals.

Forgive me if this was answered already.

Yes. They will be activated by the Turn signal and they will also have their own Anytime Switch

With the Front and Rear Cams still activatable as well? I think there are some devices out there that handle that but everyone I have ever seen is super pricey. Was just curious how you were going about it.

Like this one maybe? I had always been trying to find one that has the slow roll front camera activation as well but no such luck.

Also one of the birds eye view modules would be interesting to test. Not sure about reliability on those though.

Yes. Definitely for the Front and Rear Cams. Time will tell... I cannot wait!

    UPDATE:

Well worked on the wiring this weekend. I have it all wired up and I’m running into issues with the Fold and Unfold Button on the Switch. I have the Adjuster Knob working perfectly.

    I’ve tested all the wires:
    • Constant Power Wire that goes to the Control Kit lights up when I touch the Ground that I have wired into the Connectors to match up with the Ground running from the Control Kit (which I made sure was the correct Ground by just running the tester and finding the end to each wire in the Harness and matching each Wire to Wire)
    • By the first test, that also means the Ground is Good.
    • Next test was done on the Lock & Unlock Wires, which by running the tester to find the end to each wire, I did find that I had the White Constant Power Wire and the White Lock/Unlock Wire mixed up. Therefore, I’m glad I did that tester because now I know exactly which wire is which. Not that it really matters or changed anything, but it’s still nice to have a complete wire pinout to the Control Kit Connector. When I ran the test on each of the Wires, the Light came on and then shut off. Just like it is supposed to do, so the Lock & Unlock Wires are Good.
    • All the Adjustment Wires seem to be working just fine as I move the knob on the switch, both mirrors are able to be adjusted in the correct direction (Up/Down, Right/Left).
    • The illumination (+) and I’m assuming (-) both are Good as well as the Switch Lights up with the Dash Lights.
    7E95BE1A-A18F-4691-A897-97D10171F205.jpg

So people...what wire am I not thinking about? There has to be one wire that I am missing? It’s probably something very small. I’m super close to being complete with this. I even made sure the mirrors would Fold & Unfold so I just connected them directly to the Battery and they do so that’s all Good!

Let’s break it down into sections...Does the mirror fold/unfold with the control module disconnected or removed from the circuit/stock setup? If it works stock, then something with the control module maybe or wiring from there as you said. What’s the pin out diagram on your module?

Yep, I lost "the issue" in the post. The mirror control works and the fold/unfold works... but not with the module? Not really sure where/how to help without a better breakout of the good/bad.

Didn’t receive a wire diagram do I’ve had to trace each wire from scratch which is why it’s taken so long but I’ve gotten it to this point and I’m almost there. I’m almost thinking it’s the switch because it’s RH and we might just have to go with the LH Switch or maybe I just have one of the Fold/Unfold wires crossed, but I don’t think that is the case. However, it could be possible. I’m just not sure how to test that one yet. I’ll have to test it just stock. I haven’t just tried it like that. I’ll start there

Yeah. I don’t think it’s possible to just hook it up to the OEM Switch without the Control Kit connected. However, I was able to see the other Switch Lit Up (LH)

Try holding down on the switch?

I had a problem with a latching switch for my nav override. When latched, the contact points wasn't making a good connection. Replaced with a new switch and works perfectly. Thank goodness I bought a set of 10.

When I was installing my T4R mod, I hit the fold switch and they folded/unfolded which I thought was weird because I hadn't connected the power wire yet but it was connected to the wire harness. Are the control mods for the Taco's different?

Yeah. I might try to mimic the 4Runner harness just to see first and then go from there. Mirrors fold and Unfold when you just hook up the power to the wires themselves, so now it’s just a matter of connecting those to the switch

    UPDATE:

Well I have some great news people, I got to see the Harness (ONLY) FOLD and UNFOLD the Mirrors last night for the first time. I took my truck up to my cousins shop and we just kept throwing different combinations out after different combinations. That’s the only thing I could think of and it was my last resort with this harness. At this point, I tested and tried everything else. Let me tell you, it was such a relief when I finally was able to see those mirrors go in and out for the first time.

After that, my cousin actually took the switch apart bc he wanted to see the inside of it to see if my pinout diagram was matching up to the actual switch locations.

    737597B4-B42B-4291-BC9D-64DB4B4CC61B.jpg

I’m happy to say, without having a wire diagram for this harness or anything to go by, other than our truck wire diagram, I was able to invert their wire harness and make all the necessary changes to match up the wires and they did in fact match for at least the bottom portion of the switch. :bananadance: We put the switch back together and for the first time, I was able to see the Mirrors FOLD. However, we were not able to get them to UNFOLD. So, that means we have to work in the other side of the harness now, and see if maybe I need to flip some wires to have them match up. But.....it’s getting there

Well I finally SHIPPED my last 5th Gen 4Runner order yesterday, so now ALL of the 4Runners from my First Run have been COMPLETED! This last one was a custom order with OPTION 2 PKG B w/ RIGID DITCH LIGHTS - @rayofsi. I’m very excited to see pics of his install and maybe some video clips. I ordered him some OEM terminals for his Connectors because I ran is Ditch Lights through is OEM Harness and into is last two open slots in his Connector.

    FCB55A89-5501-435D-8351-D9E27680F0B8.jpg

I also had a couple extra custom black strips from when I did my person mirrors so I included those in his Kit. I figured if he wanted to give them a try on his 4Runner set, it might be pretty cool to get some shots of a 4Runner with Barcelona Red Mirrors with them on ;) I might be a little bias. I don’t know. I’ll let him post up the final pics though.

I’m happy to say that so far with the 4Runner Kits, I did not run into any real issues. Minor tweaks here in there with some mounting locations and whatnot but very minor things. Which is exciting. I’ve received an update on the bulk order I’ve placed and they are over halfway complete so the shipping date is coming soon for all the 4Runner Kits

    UPDATE:

Well 4Runner Kits have been SHIPPED!! I should be receiving them soon, so if you own one start placing your orders people. I only have 100 Kits and I’m not sure if I’ll be doing another run for the 4Runners after this. Also, for those with 4Runners, I am not able to do the PNP Harnesses. The Female Connector is not able to be sources unfortunately. I do apologize. For those that have purchased it, I will go ahead and refund you the money prior to shipping you your kits.

Tacoma Community!!! The time we have all been waiting for!!! Tomorrow I am hoping to finally be able to release some pictures and some videos of the Tacoma Power Folding Mirrors in Action. I have made some changes and adjusted some other things. I think for the better. I’m really excited. I have a couple more connections to make, but if all goes as planned, I should be able to do the test tomorrow and take some videos.

What lights are these? When I search for "Rigid Ignite Ditch Lights" I see something completely different. Link to the actual lights used, please.
