Yeah the Hayward one is like that. The Fremont one is way nicer and far more competent.

The Hayward one upsold me $20 on those stupid window trims. I was about to hang up and then he said “wait, I’ll take $40 off the price”

That is a damn clean 4Runner Limited. I looked inside and I’ve never seen those leather seats intact before. They’re not ripped or torn or worn at all.

I think my dealer has issues with their management. Used to see the same, reliable people in there everytime I went, and they all knew their stuff. Then maybe 4 years ago it started going downhill and you never get the same service advisor twice. The parts people are college kids that dont care, service reps are all former salesman that dont know what theyre talking about.

For example: My dad wanted new tires (pre-ordered with a sale going on) and a frame inspection. Service advisor kept trying to sell him an alignment while my dad told them only if it passed the inspection will he get the alignment. Well, it failed the inspection and the service writer still tried to slip the alignment on the bill. My dad says no way hes paying for that as theyre going to align it after the frame swap. SA says she'll go halfers on him with it, dad asks for a mananger at that point which made her finally take it off the bill, under the excuse of "ok I'll cover the cost for you." He called the manager the next day to complain.

Got my banjo bolt fuel rail gaskets too. Hayward Toyota wanted $4.50 each and Fremont Toyota only wanted $2.99 each.

Apparently OEM windshield washers are a thing? I always thought those were outsourced. The ones on the Tesla are Rain-X from the factory I believe.

The one in Hayward looks like that, my local dealer. The Fremont one is still old looking straight out of the 90’s.

My mom had the same service rep at Mercedes-Benz of Fremont since 1999 up until we stopped bringing it there in roughly 2014. Most of the original service advisors who have been there for years are still there.

Near the end of our time there, her service advisor pulled some strings for her and charged her “under the table”. We were only paying roughly 60% of the going labor rate and for parts. They treated us well there, but it started getting too expensive and that’s when I took over.

We used to know the tech who worked on the 92 by first name basis. Did the headgasket and everything before that. When new managers came in he moved to another dealer a few towns over along with just about every long time tech in the place.

OEM Toyota wipers are nice, they're trico. Honda's actually have just the swapable rubber part. I get em at the dealer for my mom and they're like 4.50 and they works great

I need to start buying good wipers, I always cheap out when I go to get them at the parts store and they hardly last.

Hey when adding an AAL to a leaf pack you don't "need" a specific brand matching AAL for a specific leaf pack right? They seem pretty generic

Reason I ask is because All Pro/TG doesn't sell AALs for 1st gen leaf springs, at least they aren't on their website

cool yeah I didn't think so. Seeing as how I need to replace the bushings in one side of the leaf springs I'm going to put AALs in both sides while I'm working on them. Truck sits level but loaded up it sits lower in the rear, I want some rake
