The good thing about being a master motorcycle mechanic.......who does not/can not find a decent job.....I get to offer my services to select folks, like TTC family....

 

Could make great money here in Canada. Problem is riding season is like 3 months long tops.

 

Hey guys, serious question, does anyone have the intake spacer on their 4.0?

I am skeptical of dyno charts ( operators can cook numbers if thy want )

I also question something as simple as this if TRD does not have it.....

 

Intake spacer makes it so the intake has more air volume which will create less of a pressure drop when hitting the throttle.

 

Same as Washington.

Motorcycles took a huge hit during the recession, it ain’t ever gonna come back. Millennials and the green new deal types think motorcycles are dangerous and they can’t figure out how to shift them without an x box or cell phone......

Not such a hit in places like England where motorcycles are a way of life. In the US they are toys.

 

Understand the tech, it is just one of those things that I wonder if it actually works.

I’ve got v stacks in the R1, they work, but they were also designed specifically for how my engine ran.

Do you have it?

 

Good little bike, just don’t run the big freeways, the motor will “melt” down.

 

I’ve got a 1” spacer on the 455 but it’s got carburetor. Stops heat from baking the carb. & lowers fuel bounce back off the bottom of the intake.

 

Increasing plenum volume for carbed engines to achieve better atomization, giving fuel injected engines better reserve plenum air....

They work. I've seen it on the dyno, it's not usually u huge gain, but it helps support additional mods. Not worth it by itself

 

Had one on my 85 k1500.... but that was a 5.0 performance intake and a Carter carb.....

The science is right, just FI makes the old rules not work as well at times.

 

The old rules still apply. Make those engines breathe.

 

If they told me 20 years ago that i’d Need a laptop to do a tune, I’da said get stuffed. Lol

 

Which is why I ask if anyone has this mod?

I’m doing what I normally do, research shit and find out what REALLY works before dumping money....unlike chrome addicts and GSXR owners....

Got a laptop dedicated to m/c FI tuning...... unwilling to buy a full system to do the truck...even OV tune is way more than it is worth for a once in awhile check/mod.

 

I've been thinking about doing that for my Harley, but I'm not interested in engine performance on my taco
