I recently read a post on facebook about someone bringing their truck to have the recall done, and the dealer deactivated it. I realize that's what is likely to happen if its completed. Does anyone know if Techstream will be able to reactivate the system? From reading this notice, it looks like they are changing a setting that may can be undone with anyone with tech stream.

I believe you can turn it on through the dash menu. They're just advising you not to, since it may not operate correctly. They're advising you to use standard (non-radar) cruise control. They're just trying to avoid legal liability if you were in a front end collision due to malfunctioning DRCC, due to your mods.

That's how I read it too, however it looks like they are going to change something to retain the setting after key cycle. I believe this is the menu they are going to modify. I just don't want them to change something that will require me to turn it on after every key cycle.

    It’s simple

Stock you are able to turn it off BUT it turns back on the next time you start the truck by default. It does not retain the previous (off) setting

Via techstream there was always an option to turn that “revert to default” setting to off. So that the next time you start the truck it will keep the previous setting WHETHER it is on or off. It will not default back to on UNLESS it was on previously.

Ie. Off will stay off with future start ups. On will stay on with future start ups

And that’s exactly the way I would want it to work, but I’m seeing some reports that you do have to turn it on each time you start the truck...which would be a pain. I declined to sign the waiver and have my recall service done yesterday because my service advisor couldn’t tell me what exactly would happen. I’ve got a pro grill and 265/70/17 tires with no lift, so they consider that a modified vehicle.
