That's the only broken flex plate I've ever encountered so your noise may differ.

Would anyone know who to talk to about getting a copy of the TW logo and permission to use it? Southern Xpeditions is offering to customize the fire pits with it

No! It won't fit your Jeep. You should just buy another Tacoma.

Prolly not do another Taco, but might do an Fj. Going to be a while, as major back surgery coming after summer or poss during summer, so $$$
Otherwise might try to do an old land cruiser resto. Had one when I lived in Mammoth, and loved it.
On the bps, while I loved mine, I will not major mod another vehicle due to liability issues. Too many lawyers, gotta protect what’s mine. If I drive over the top of some idiot, the liability will reside with the MFR, not with me.

I'd like a late 60's early 70's highboy. My boss did a frame off resto of a old Walla Walla fire Dept 69 highboy he picked up from auction about 6yrs ago. Kept me busy through the winter slow down working on it with the body guy. It had 46k original miles on it when he bought it. Not sure where they kept it all that time but it was in fair condition. Now it looks and runs like new.

That sounds more catastrophic. You didn't hear the noise for long.

I can never remember, who's got an SWR meter? Just waiting to pick out which CB I want, but I picked up a 3' firestik II with tunable tip, and mounted it just behind the cab on the bed rail and got the coax ran into the cab. I used a lug style mount to connect the coax and antenna. I wanted to keep the antenna somewhat protected when in tight trails with heavy brush and tree limbs. Of course now that I've read firestiks antenna Bible I choose an antenna that's probably too short and mounted it in a non optimal location. It's about 3" off the back of the cab and sticks above the roof line ~12"-16". I could add a spring to gain maybe 4 or 5 more inches but I'm sure it would be hitting the cab constantly off road.

"The top one half to two thirds of any high performance antenna MUST be in free space with NO parallel surfaces within its near field of radiation … at least three feet. If radio frequency could be seen like water, you'd see it splattering all over the place. You can't see the RF but your SWR meter will prove it is there."

So I'm curious to see what the meter shows in my situation. My ground plane is probably not the greatest either since the track rail I attached the mount to is bolted to the composite bed.

I have an old cobra 18 WX ST 40ch 3wb CB temporarily installed, but it's way to bulky to mount where I'd like it without sacrificing cup holders and cutting some of the dash to recess it. The uniden CMX760 is nice and compact and I like the ability to control it from the mic, but the price is a turn off.
