Added the pro exhaust cat back today, I must say it goes great with the TRD cold air intake. Sounds great, smoother driveability and it feels a little better all around. Would I do it again, absolutely!. The exhaust welds were the best I have seen in a long time. My factory exhaust is junk compared the pro exhaust.

Mds08, glad the exhaust and intake combo are what you were looking for. How does the exhaust sound in the cab at highway speeds? Is it noticeable?
Any chance you can measure the TRD airbox outlet diameter for me?

The sound is actually about as quiet as stock but lot deeper sounding and when you open her up she is smooth and deep sounding. No popping or raspy sound. The air box screams at you. It does sound pretty bad ass for what it is. I know it's not a V8 but I swear it's one of the best sounding 6cyl I have heard. I have a stroker motor in my mustang with some hard hitting cams and lopes it's ass off so I know what a nice sounding exhaust sounds like. I will measure it this evening.

Guys. after about two weeks, I really don’t notice any change in sound or performance or throttle response.

I’d say it’s probably a big waste of cash even though I got it on sale.

Sound is the one thing that everyone can agree on... I'm quite surprised you both didn't notice a difference in sound at higher rpm's and wide open throttle. The sound clips I've provided demonstrate the difference in sound signature between the stock and TRD CAI. It's not obnoxious as a system with no resonator but the sound is definitely different and throatier.

Not sure if you fixed your exhaust issue but I just did an MBRP cat back on mine. After reading reviews I realized this thing was going to drone which would not be good on our month long 6k miles camping trips. So looking further into the situation I came across this.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XH6V2M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I put it in between engine and muffler but one guy said he just tapped it into the rear pipe. Have only driven it for about an hour so far but the exhaust sounds awesome and only slightly loader than stock with no noticeable drone. will take it on highway today to see how it does there. Just ordered the TRD intake today. After the exhaust I figured I may as well make the system complete and hope for one mpg better. My new shift knob in gloss black with orange numbers added at least 10HP so I am on a roll.

Did you ever find your answer? It looks like you installed one. Was that on a 2019?

I bought a trd intake and returned it after installing and comparing to stock intake.

I instead modified the stock airbox as follows:

Ordered air accelerator listed in original post $32
    K&N Drop in Filter $61
Removed air directing tube that is in bottom of airbox
    Removed charcoal filter
Removed air straightening grid in air box near maf sensor

My butt dyno tells me this makes the same or more power than the TRD intake at a much lower cost ($93 vs $380)

I might go this route. How the sound compares to the TRD intake?

No difference in sound really. Not $300 worth of sound difference thats for sure.

I'm considering buying the TRD catback, installing it, then taking my fctory catback to an exhaust shop and having an $84 Dynomax Ultraflow welded in. Then taking the TRD cat-back off, reinstalling the stock exhaust with new muffler and comparing which is the better bang for the buck.

There is an optional second intake (in addition to the passenger fender) as shown. You have the choice of keeping it open as I do, or using the provided plug. While open there is a dramatic difference in tone

I installed my TRD intake this week. Power seems a little bit more peppy, sound in the upper RPMs is very much improved.
