Leafers?

 

Northern folk that come to the mountains to see the leaves changing colors. Generally in mid-fall when temperatures begin to cool.

May not all be Northern. Just a stereotype from up that way.

 

I go to see the leaves in color change . If you ever get the chance get a motorcycle and come up here and ride the Tail of the Dragon when the leaves are changing it's an epic ride!

 

You don't want this fat kid on a motorcycle..

That said, we've also ridden through (on 4 wheels, not two) the mountains in years past to see the leaves. Up above Oconee, Westminster, Brevard and Highlands NC, and around Clayton, GA. I've heard Tail of the Dragon was a great area. Need to make it up that way one day.

I've seen some footage from guys running it on motorcycles and it looks fun as heck.

 

Yep, never went when I had my bike(s), and glad I didn't.

I got wiped out coming down 226A in Marion NC and broke my collar bone after an oncoming minivan came into my lane mid-corner...laid the bike down and was 6" from falling down a 100ft dropoff. Drove home, went to the ER, and sold the bike a few months later. Never again.

 

When I lived in FL all I had was my bike. One day a guy clipped me while I was in the median waiting to merge. Missed my leg but snapped off a peg. That was the worst I ever had it. But I moved to MI not long after that and left the bike behind with a buddy. I've thought about getting another, but I think I prefer my truck these days.
