I’m not sure how much of a role the manufacturers have on those studies. I wouldn’t be surprised though if they throughly go through a vehicle before hand to make sure everything is as good as can be. From fit and finish down to mechanical tolerances. I’m sure they have a group of engineers throughly go through the vehicle with a fine tooth comb before sending the vehicles to these testing places.

Ok now let’s talk about pewpews.

I’ve got an LWRC M6A2 which is fun. Thinking about picking up a Remington 870 next

Ya for sure. But it is so much more. The handling in general is amazing. Flicks so easy. Corners great but doesn't knife or headshake. It's like everything is very neutral and good. Plus so light. My 350 is 1lb lighter than my Yamaha 250F and it feels smaller. No tools airbox is great. The brakes are 10x better (and I have a Braking oversized kit on my YZF). The list goes on and on.

I think the only JD power questionnaire I ever received was for my F150. Never got one for my Tacoma or a survey from Toyota for it.

I say mods should delete the thread, OP clearly didn’t have an issue with this if he didn’t care to come back for the info and answers.

Yes, there are multiple layers. The brand scores shown on that bar graph is the aggregation of each of that brand’s models scores, weighted for sales.

So, indeed, Ridgeline could conceivably be more reliable than Tacoma. But Honda scores are being dragged down by some other models.

Having said that, car owners generally report fewer problems than truck owners. That’s just the nature of the beast.

From that standpoint alone, because Ridgeline is car-based while Tacoma is body-on-frame, we should expect Ridgeline owners to experience fewer problems than Tacoma owners.

In order words, because Ridgeline is car-based and Tacoma is a body-on-frame truck, for Ridgeline to be unquestionably more dependable than Tacoma, that margin ought to be much greater. How much greater? I’d need to have access to sample sizes, sample dispersion, and a bunch of other statists to figure out statistical significance.

All I can say is: based on 25 years doing automotive consumer research, I’d say that Ridgeline’s narrow point advantage over Tacoma is insufficient for a car-based vehicle.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Defective designs and poor quality in many apple products to include keyboard, hard drives, screens, faulty voltage controllers that dont even meet Apple's own minimal specs, bendy phones, phones that drops calls if you hold it too tightly, and monopoly like practices that attempts to force me to use crappy and overpriced Apple store repair services is why I'm very careful when I buy Apple.

But don't worry, if your apple product fails, there's a YouTube channel specifically tailored to Apple product repair. Its a very successful channel for some reason... Check out Louis Rossman on youtube for a better understanding of why you should probably pay very close attention to those class action lawsuits...

In his defense, most forums dont move this fast as TW. Part of the reason I still hang out here having sold the Taco a year ago. Great group, very active. One forum I am on is lucky to get 2-3 new posts a day. I visit that one once a week and dont miss much at all. Maybe he check back in on his 4:20 break today :notsure:

    He has this profile post:

Oldbuzzard Will get latter today and post. He said he had to do "metal cutting" to put the kit in. I didn't see anything that looked like fresh metal work. (And I'm a retired aircraft mechanic). I mean every lift kit I'm familiar with is basically just spacers. That is what you see on the rear axle - spacers and new, long u-bolts. I didn't see anything I could id as spacers in what I call the front shock tower. Thanks

And you are correct about that.

Automakers DETEST being put through this public horse race every year. Particularly since JD Power cannot even guarantee that Honda is in fact ranked 17th instead of 14th —or whatever the actual ranks may be.

But as consumer, these rankings give me a sense of who’s on top, who’s at the bottom, who’s on its way up and who’s on its way down.

To answer your question: No, there’s no way to entice owners with a positive experience to participate in equal proportion as those with a negative experience. However, the underlying assumption is that regardless of you owning a Honda, a Toyota, a Nissan or a Land Rover, if you have a negative experience you will be equally enticed to respond, regardless of the brand you own.

Just to murky the waters a little more: owner loyalty is known to have an influence on these scores. For instance, Toyota, Honda and Subaru consistently report higher levels of loyalty than say Nissan, Fiat or Land Rover. There’s been suspicion over the years that Toyota and Honda scores were somewhat artificially buoyed by higher owner loyalty. However, if that were the case, it would only make those poor Honda scores all the more sobering.

Changing wheels will absolutely NOT void warranty. It's no different then changing wheels on a Toyota/Mazda/Ford/Chevy/BMW etc. You are just making shit up, Hondas are like every other car.

Right. And there are no members on this forum either posting every day that their warranty was voided because they put on a different grille or an aftermarket set of wheels and tires...

I think 03 was more of a transition period. For sure the late 90s through about 01-02 bikes were complete and total pieces of shit
