It's Pittsburgh. In winter you just preemptively admit defeat and just park at the bottom of hill.

SF likes to talk about it's hilly landscape but Pittsburgh is just as hilly and doing that shit on hard mode with the snow.

Dood, do it. It's low cost and literally 30 min swap in your driveway without a jack or pulling the wheels. So so so so worth it

Go for it! Very happy with my bilsteins, especially the rears. The compression damping is reduced for additional control while lightly loaded, and the rebound damping is increased which works wonders on rough trails. Greater resistance to heat-soak is another advantage...

Accumulator delete was like 40 bux. Got a deal on the 5100s 50 bux each. Cheap mods

It'll hold the truck in place for around a second, if it's in gear w/ clutch in, before releasing the brakes. I'm a fan, but many others despise it.

i have never even tried the parking brake method that i recall, i just know what it takes lol, once in awhile i stall it but so it goes
still wondering when I am going to need a new clutch put in this, they wear out just like brakes

i've only had to do one of those rolling pop-a-clutch starts in the '79 corolla long time ago in the early 2000s when the starter was not working, that was a lot of fun to hop in while it was moving to get it going ... i may have forgotten how to do that

You should have taken your Sport for a drive with the sway bar off. Night and day.

Well I took a look at my Lyft receipt and where we went I don't think is any of those places, so probably not as steep. But dang it sure looked crazy when going up to it and like you are lifting off as you go up and get pushed back into your seat! It looks like I was on Jones St going up the hills past Filbert. Hopefully that link works but it was more impressive in real life.

I don't care much about the Yaris as there are other MT choices around like the Mazda3 and such. But, the Taco is a lone wolf. 12k sales is nothing to ignore. I'd argue that the small difference in engineering is worth it.

My only hope is that nothing unforeseen happens to my Taco, since I can't even wrap my mind around the 2018+ Tacos. Too many gizmos.

    Sorry about your ankle!

had my tires rotated for the first time on the new set at the DT store yesterday. was sitting at the window watching the young tire technicians and mentioned the numbers to the older guy next to me and how I hope one of those guys out there knows how to drive my truck!
he told me he's so old he remembers the 3-on-the-tree (i vaguely recall that but never drove something of the sorts)

I have an '18, it's fine with all the "gizmos". You can turn off the stuff you don't want. It's when the push button handbrake comes around when it's a deal breaker.

Exactly. For me, the Taco has brought back the joy of having four wheels in the form of a swiss army knife.

In all honesty, I do miss our 1995 Geo Metro (1.3l 5MT sedan) a bit, other than the Tropical Green color. We should have hung on to it, but at the time (2001), it didn't make sense to be paying insurance on three cars. Now, it looks like a stupid decision. I keep trying to convince our 15yr old that an MT in anything would be a good idea.

For me, a FWD car is a no-go anymore. Just too damn limited. I am not sure what I would do if I needed something that seats four and it was not a Taco, other than patiently look for used stuff.
