Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

Going with Softopper brand or Bestop? Grey or black is a hard choice to make with a white truck. Both look good. A lot of black tops around here. I love my black but I do have a MGM truck

 

Going softtopper. I have no desire to deal with side windows. My wife had a jeep with a soft top and those windows are so finicky and scratch easily. I’m already used to the blind spots as well from my current cap.

 

So far my Windows have held up good. Once a year I use the fancy Bestop cleaner, sealer and UV crap on the top and windows. I just liked the look of the windows over the Softopper. Plus the frame system doesn't hang into the bed like the ST does, too much shit mounted to my rail system for that. Only thing I hate is storing the windows but I just roll them up and toss them behind the rear seats

You know, that’s a good question. I’ve never been asked that before. I’d say $40 an hour for something like that. No idea how long it’d take me as I’ve never done anything like it before, but I’d have to guesstimate 8-10 hours? Including metal finishing and whatnot.

 

Daily rate as follows:
12 BLO’s and 1 OTPHJ.

 

So like 96 - 120 blos and 8 - 10 otphj. Would you accept a lump payment?

Just ordered a set of 265/75/r16. I don’t have any lift hoping no rubbing. Thinking I might have to remove the mud flaps from what I’ve read. Any of you Virginians had any rubbing issues and are these tires any good?

 

Have you considered going with 255s ? That has been my favorite all around tire size on my truck. Good on gas and great offroad!

Once you get over the fear and start cutting, it’s easy. I will say though, the pucker factor is high.

 

I’m actually not too nervous about cutting. Fender is already a little off from a big rock so it’s not getting any prettier either way.
Main reason I haven’t done it is because I don’t want to stretch the inner fender tube over the hard plastic tube on the fender. It looks like a real bitch

 

Wasn’t to bad. Worst thing was getting the washers and nuts on without dropping them. We eventually superglued the nuts to the washers, this made it so much easier.
