that's funny to me. i constantly tried to drive conservative in the R32 and got ticket after ticket.

now i try to drive to the limit in the Tacoma, run the thing at 3k rpm in 6th to Dallas and back (i'll let you figure that out), and i still haven't gotten my first Tacoma ticket in 2 1/2 years. i can't explain it.

That's weird. I use Waze as my radar detector, esp when on the bike. With the Taco, I barely pay attention to the speed trap alerts. Thankfully, they don't set up on the good corners around here.

I still lust after the last gen Supra. The new one hasn't really drawn me in. The 86 is definitely cool though. It would be a very hard decision between that and an MX5.

I dont understand it either. In both my Lexus (IS300 and IS250) I was either stopped or going hard. Never stopped in either of them.

My 2016 tacoma I was stopped twice and given warnings. I got tagged in my 2017 in a "construction zone" (long story). Thanks rural Iowa and your revenue generation tactics.

Same here. I'll take a mk4 MT TT.

I've looked at couple used FRS and they can be found for pretty cheap around here. If I could find another IS300 with MT I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. If I'd held onto mine for another week or two, I could have afforded to keep it with the new job.

I should probably stop buying toys and find a place to store them lol shits so expensive here in the midwest, I really need to move to Colorado / Wyoming / Montana where ground is closer to $1k an acre than $10k+.

It looks like the used prices on those are soaring though.

Do the latter. Get some space. I regret that mistake. We are working to at least improve that now.

Right now its <$500/month rent where I'm at so that shuts up most of my complaints. I've been having a hard time talking myself into moving (plus moving sucks lol). I need to go find a place to store the tundra though, I dont really want that sitting outside ALL the time.

One of these days I'll find what I'm looking for and it'll be a done deal. I'm sure it'll be 100% oh I guess I'm buying a place today lol

the Iowa State Patrol seems to always have a trap waiting for me  so far I have been fortunate to avoid them but have come close
the one trooper that rescued me near Avoca in 2oo4 was pretty cool as far as i remember

I was over by Sioux City (the land of constant construction). On highway 20 came over a hill and it was was like "CONSTRUCTION ZONE" with no warning with a guy sitting right over the hill to clock you as you crested the hill with no warning to slow from 65 to 45...

shockingly the next time I was through there, they moved the signs to the other side of the hill....

I tried fighting it but you couldn't even get people to answer the phone or call you back. it was a crock. I hadn't had a ticket in 10 years.. And lately I've been doing over 40,000 miles a year...

That rent is very attractive. We should never have stopped renting. A lot of folks that we knew found nice rental houses for cheap. We were dumb.

there is currently a garage-kept '87 turbo being freshened up at the local ToyoTechs here before the owner puts it up for sale... new clutch is all I know of that is being repaired but probably more
The mechanic told me the guy might let me test drive it once he sees the condition of my truck.
not sure how much he is gonna want for it

I got lucky and bought my house at the perfect time (2011) right before the market was really recovering. Rents were going up and it was basically a no brainer at that point. Now the market has bounced back around here and stuff is up like 30% which was great for selling but not great for buying again lol

Also renting houses is a WAY better deal than apartments. So much more space and freedom and I can stay as long as I want.

That sounds like fun. Hopefully it works out.

Comparatively, I would be happy to deal with a clutch replacement versus living with an AT. I did scratch my head looking at the clutch housings on our FWD cars. I have no idea how they would have gotten swapped if needed. Never had to though.

N-S layout look dead simple. You should have no problems.

Exactly. My biggest complaint was sharing walls and not having a garage. I like movies and music. Usually not compatible in communal living. :D

There's no attempting! You got this.

Subs are a requirement. Even sharing walls with the rest of the family can be difficult.

after years and years of being a serial renter and mainly in apts, i finally bought a house. when i did the first and main requirement was the space between mine and the next houses and we didn't even look at properties that didn't have the space. it's been worth the wait, bought the right house, first owned property, at age 48. just love the space.
