anyone know where to source the strap keepers/mounts for the tents? The little piece of aluminum with 3 screw holes that go over the strap to keep it down?

Since CVT doesnt like to give you the additional straps to roll your cover up at night and strap to hold ladder down like tepui, i was going to add my own.

is there a video or something for how to set up the bungees inside the tent? Arent they supposed to help close the tent for cleaner storage?

found this, but i dont really need more straps and $40 is steep for what im using out of it.

just make an X pattern from side to side. they help but not an end all/be all solution.

 

they just go straight across to the little eyelets hanging from small tabs on the tent walls. X pattern if the bungees are tired from lots of use.

I bought my tent used and they didn't include the bungees so I never used them, but I always had to tuck a little wall fabric in for a better fit of the cover. That's all they do - pulls the walls in when you close the tent so you don't have to tuck.

Just go to the hardware store and get some metal stock and a dremel with cutoff wheels and a drill and some short self tapping screws and make your own for way cheaper.

This is what I'm doing. I've ordered webbing and buckles to replace all the straps on my tent and those retainers are looking cheap. I think I'll just wrap the webbing all the way around for the long straps and use the mounting points as eyelets to keep them centered.

 

changing the straps to lashing straps has been the best thing i've ever done.

 

might be able to find what you need or make some real quick at home depot

...I started the engine. I was already in 4Lo, and I also engaged the front and rear lockers, hoping that the passenger tires which were on slightly firmer ground would be enough to pull the truck out.

Nope. More wheel spin. And more sinking. The front wheel was now up just above the center cap and the rear axle was just touching the water.

We were well past "sh*t" at this point on the cuss-o-meter, and the camera was long forgotten. Sorry.

Tent is mounted and the boat is ready time for some fishing
Camp site on Upper Red Lake in Minnesota



Fishing was great but over night the wind shifted and increased to 20 mph with gusts to 35 shook the whole truck.
I tied things down as best I could at 3 am but the rainfly was flapping prety good and I could not sleep for a few hours until the wind shifted again
Has anyone got any suggestions for additional tiedowns for these extreme wind conditions.

 

Just another week of waiting till I order my new tent

I haven't seen anyone run an All-Pro Rack in a long time...Guess I'll be the test dummy on how their products are doing since they got bought out!
