    Have you thought about getting someone with good credit to co-sign? That would help your interest. Also it might be worth it to finance through a credit union. I know my local credit union doesn’t even check your credit score. They only go off of year and mileage of the vehicle to determine interest rate and debt to income ratio to make sure you can afford the payment.

    Yeah, unfortunately everyone I know is a schlub so no good credit all around and I'm going through the credit union.

    OK, sounds like you've got it figured out. Still seems dumb to me. Seems smarter to buy a $7K 1st gen Taco with cash, then buy everything you need in life on a credit card and pay it off every month.
