Best Sliders For 3rd Gen (2019 Pro specifically)?

Hi ya'll, I have a 2019 TRD Pro and AM NEW (so go easy on me) to off-roading, and therefore think I want bolt-on vs. weld on sliders (I saw from other threads that you probably only need weld on if you "hardcore wheel"). - But what do I know?

I'm running 265/75/R16 KM3s to give me a little added height (plus the Pro is 1" hight than the OR I think), but I am scraping the bottom and sides of the nerf bars that came on my rig, and I know they take from my ground clearance and can't support the weight of the truck.

I looked at Demello sliders but they didn't have a 2019 option, so I thought I'd get the communities to take. I would like to get a low profile set (if that's even a thing) so I can get as much clearance as possible, and also don't like the way kick out's look (and am not sure what they are for), but not sure if i "need them."

Thoughts and recommendations?

Mobtown has the reputation as one of the best sliders available. I was looking at RCI, since i already own their skids. haven't done enough wheeling to justify sliders, but they are on my list of shit to eventually buy.

bolt on sliders for sure. many many choices so it's more of a brand/style preference as well as total cost.

 

There are many choices. Search the forums. I went with CaliRaised. Happy!

 

Where are you located? Lots of great companies out there making sliders. Find someone local and save the shipping cost.

 

Are most sliders made of hollow tube? (NEWB question, i know)

The Mobtown sliders have a good reputation on this forum but they usually have a long lead time. I went with RCI bolt-on 20 degree sliders w/o the step plate and powder coated.

Installation was what I expected. Hardware was good. Arrived undamaged. I got 15% off using the tax season sale but you can get 5% off using "TW" I believe. Note: the 20 degree sliders are definitely not an effective side step unless used to access the roof rack or similar.

Yes, hollow steel tubing is used. boxed tubing for the inside portion (usually) and round tubing for the outside portion.

The RCI sliders I went with weigh 130 lbs. The weight would be much higher with solid steel bar.

 

NFAB has low profile sliders with removable steps. It's all bolt on, no welding. They also come powder coated.

 

I went with Cali Raised as well and am very happy with them. Install was easy just had to read their instructions online multiple times. Installed them with the help of my 8y/o.

As long as you can pull up 3rd gen years from the options you should be good regardless of which company you decide to go with.

I personally run SOS Concepts.

Had a set of Mobtown, but their mounting system is overly complicated and no stronger than any other slider on the market IMO.

You are likely not going to put enough force on the sliders to cause the frame to bend or twist, regardless of mfg, so don't buy into the hype about one slider being better than the next.

 

I've been looking for sliders myself as well. I want something that bolts on, offers decent protection, costs less than $500 and looks good.

Steps are extra; I wouldn't get them.

 

Mobtown Bolt ons FTW. As strong as or stronger than weld on's IMHO.



This picture angle makes it look like they stick out more than they actually do (except for the kickout they are about 1" past the door, good to protect from door-dings btw).



Unless you order the 0 deg version, they tilt up about 20deg so you slide off rocks, but there is still enough to use them as a step...



Wraps, clamps and bolts to the frame, they are not going anywhere and not moving even if you drop the truck onto rocks.

 

Mobtown, RCI, CBI, Demello. I'd consider any of them. I have the RCI 20-degree with top plates. Only because I already owned RCI skid plates and I got a decent price. This is a 2016, but I don't think the holes have changed for the 2019...

 

Don’t forget BAMF, he makes awesome sliders as well.
