I think the possibility of scratching up bikes isn’t worth it, and actual locking devices work more effectively than something you can remove by hand or a hex wrench.

Sign me up man! I’m only 90 minutes away! I usually work weekends but I am free some Saturday’s and all week. Let me know!

You are relatively-ish close to windrock right? Sundance especially and Deer Valley to a lesser extent are pretty small. For me to drive to Trestle would be farther than you to Windrock from what I remember.

Edit: Or come visit. If you don't mind a pedal up, we might be able to pre-season DV and still catch some slush turns at Snowbird!

Its about 5 hours and 41 minutes, my goal this summer is to go at least twice, since I am not going to be able to get to Colorado this summer.

Oh that being said, they are selling one of their Trek Sesson large frame bikes with fox factory for like $3200. SUUUPER tempting!

Nope. But I am happy with Deer Valley for my skill level. We also have some great shuttle-able "goods" in the local area as well which is like a DIY bikepark.

I’m heading up to the central coast first weekend of June and Santa Cruz the second weekend. But I’ll still be around during the week! Let me know and we will figure it out! First round after the trails is on me!

I'll prob have a dog by the time you get here...you can cuddle with it.

Or if @fatfurious2 would hurry up and find a job out here, he could be your little spoon.

Currently trying to pick my next Toyota!
Looking for some advice on hauling bikes in the bed. On the last truck, I had a Dakine tailgate pad and it's by far the easiest way to haul bikes. We ride 2-3 days a week spring to fall. We keep the bed open since we haul dirt bikes and kayaks too. Problem with the tailgate pad is it scratched up my last truck from time on dirt roads and rubbing. I've pondered doing a clear bra or plastidip over the paint to keep it nice but that just seems like overkill. Currently I just lay it down in the bed when solo and when there's 2 bikes, I lay one down and stand the other up like a moto. 3+ bikes is an issue. We also haul them on the roof of our wagon but that's another story. I hate removing the front wheels due to thru-axles and how often we ride. Any suggestions? I'd say 95% of bikes up here are hauled on tailgate pads or hitch rack of SUVs/wagons. There's some interesting upright bed racks that hold the front wheel. I just don't feel like scratching up the tailgate on this pretty truck plus bed pads look like truck diapers! Haha. Side note, if anyone comes to North Tahoe/Truckee to ride, hit me up. I know where all the good stuff is at and it's pretty much unlimited. New trails being built every year.
