I think a lot of it depends on the person their job and what they are doing in the military. I know a bunch of guys like y'all that couldn't wait to get out and have a bunch of HS friends that are going into their 20th yr. or didn't want to get out but we're we're to because of other reasons

 

I want to get out because I've reached that point where I wont be able to stop myself from slapping the shit out of coworkers and superiors.

 

You just need a discipline adjustment. You've had it soft for too long.

It's gotten to the point where this job is a joke. I'm not challenged anymore and I work for people who should have never obtained the rank they are at. I'm literally doing the job I did 8 years ago as an E4.

 

I feel the same way where I am.

 

More seized hardware @Minimag95 ? At least you'll have fresh, new, greasable hardware.

 

Yep unfortunately. Randy helped me get it taken care of though. The steering already felt better on the way to the alignment shop. Its there now, I should get it back today

 

Did you guys just drench the new cam hardware in anti seize?

I wish there was a reliable replacement that was grease-able. But from what I have read, the only thing available like that are Moogs and they are garbage.

 

It isn't just limited to the military. It is every where. People that don't actually have the skills they need to promote just learn to kiss the right asses and things get taken care of and they inexplicable rise to power...

Lol we actually remembered after getting everything back together that we completely forgot to apply the antiseize to the new hardware. We hit a couple roadblocks along the way so our minds were definitely preoccupied and probably rushing a bit too. At some point in the near future i'm gonna mark the cams and remove the hardware one bolt at a time to reinstall with antiseize. Hopefully before it seizes up again

 

You should add it to your list of preventative maintenance. Once I replace mine, I will pull them every fall and reapply anti seize so I never have to replace them again.

 

Yeah, not a bad idea. I definitely don't wanna have to deal with seized hardware again. Huge pain in the ass

 

Wondering though, if I mark the cams and put them back in the same positions, alignment should still be pretty much on right? Is it worth it to get alignment checked again after or just roll with it?

 

In theory it should be fine. My plan is to check mine right before I get an alignment, since I get one every few months because bouncing around on rocks can push everything out of alignment.

 

Yeah truee. I'll just mark them, reassemble and see how it drives. If it feels different then i'll take it in

 

Also, yall know if I can just pull those bolts out to apply the anti seize as long as the truck is jacked up? like without removing the shock from the lower mount also?

 

I’m not sure, but what I’d do is try, and if they’re under too much tension and not wanna come out, then I’d say no. Then just do what we did yesterday with unbolting it from the spindle and the lower shock mount.

 

I did mine one at a time on a drive-on lift with a jack (tall kind) underneath the inner end of the arm so it wouldnt fall down when the bolt was removed. It seemed to me that if i removed the bolt with the suspension drooping it would have a better chance of screwing up the alignment, it just seemed like a better idea to do it with the suspension in its normal range/angle..

I was also ready with a pry bar to help get it back in place if things shifted. You could probably do it on the ground with a regular shop floor jack too, you'd just be doing it on your back
