If you're going to get the CRC applied you have a small window of time to have it done. 5-21-19 is the last day to have it done regardless of date of first use.

After reading the H0F LSC memo corporate sent out it looks like if they do find a perforation that was missed during the zh6 inspection, when scaling the frame during prep for the CRC they will replace the frame even if it is past the expiration date to qualify for wep zh6 frame replacement. At least how I read the flow chart shown on page 8 of the manufacturer communication letter on the NTHSA website.

So what youre saying is since I brought my truck in and they found the 10mm or larger hole it qualifies for a new frame? I know for a fact 2005 trucks are definitely still getting new frames put in as we speak.

That must be due to them find a hole while prepping the frame for the CRC. I can't say for certain, but I do know my 06 was approved on Jan 31st which was the last day for 05/06 trucks.

Well either way I brought it in for that service campaign because i mentioned my truck obv had one pending. So clearly this should count as a rot hole.

My truck is at the dealer now getting the frame inspected. I think it is in excellent condition and will pass, but I want the truck to last a long time so I want to have it inspected and be sure.

The service manager at my dealer is supposed to call me tomorrow to update me on the situation whether or not I will be getting a new frame. Toyota Corp said that the frame recall expired Jan 1st of this year for my truck, I was under the impression that the CRC recall counted as part of the frame replacement campaign. So fingers crossed the warranty department at Toyota USA approves of the replacement regardless of it being out a few months...

Print out that whole PDF document I posted and show them the flow chart specifically. I can't see how they won't replace it since corporate wrote that document themselves.

However this is the only part of that PDF document that may be a problem. Clearly my vehicle is older than 12 years of production date. So again Idk what the dealer or toyota will decide. The whole thing is ridiculous all trucks from those years regardless should be covered for a new frame regardless when they are brought to the dealer. Toyota should either buy them all back and give owners a check or just unanimously replace all the frames because sooner or later people will experience rot issues since they were all made at the same place. But we all know thats just not going to happen.

The flowchart is in effect if the vehicle is otherwise eligible. I.e., 12 years from DOFU, or last Jan. 31st. That is the language of the settlement, no matter what the frame looks like. Maybe Toyota will be nice about such an egregious frame rot, but they are not legally obligated at this point. It sucks, but there it is.

Mine is still eligible for the CRC, but based on that document if its brought to their attention during the CRC coating that the frame is rotted out then they have to replace it regardless of the 12 years etc. Unless im totally wrong either way the whole thing is super confusing.

I didn't know that the frame gets replaced outside of the 12 year window if it comes out in the CRC treatment that the frame is rotted.

The whole thing is SUPER confusing, alright.

Definitely confusing and I had to read it a few times before it actually clicked that expired trucks in cold climate states have one more chance to get a new frame. 6 days left and counting at this point.

The flow chart is related to completing the CRC application on covered vehicles under the LSC-H0F. IMO, however I am not representative or employee of Toyota motor Corp, the step of the flow chart boxed in red specifically asks if a 10mm perforation was found during the rust removal process. If yes, proceed with replacement as outlined by zh6.

It does not say proceed with replacement only if the vehicle is within the 12yrs from dofu as out lined in zh6 just simply to replace it. It would be careless of Toyota to knowingly spray a truck that has such an obvious problem that was missed at a previous inspection. That amount of rust doesn't develop over a few months since it passed the cutoff date.

Only catch I can see them is saying it was never inspected when they where required to as directed by the court order and they can't force an owner to have it inspected so they aren't liable in this situation to replace the frame. I really hope this isn't how it will play out. That would revolve around the 3rd step of the flow chart where it asks if it passed inspection. If it was never inspected, it neither passed or failed. The owner failed to use the available remedy Toyota notified them about and that's not Toyotas fault.

    701802843.jpg

@Dan496 if they won't replace the frame, tell them to spray it then. They can't refuse that.
