small spacers like the .25 and .5 inch thick spacers cause no issues. the ones that cause problems are the thick ones. good rule of thumb- if the spacer has its own studs then you probably don’t want it.
the thin ones are usually used to correct for leans and minor adjustments

I guess im trying to figure out what adjustments I need to make to my bump stops, i figure if I'm changing the suspension by 1/2" the bumps will need adjustments?

Isn’t “stacking” lift a bad thing? Spacers+coil overs= bad idea?

Does anybody have a straight answer on 1/2" top plate spacers and bumpstops? Bumpstops need adjustments? Has anyone ever heard of someone busting a shock with just a 1/2"?

I would contact headstrong, or maybe even give camburg a call.

Wouldnt it make sense to add a 1/2" spacer to the bump stop? If I'm moving the suspension down 1/2", add 1/2" to the bump? Am I thinking about this wrong?

Yes you’re thinking about it wrong.

Spacers displace articulation in the front suspension to add lift. It’s not a 1:1 formula.

So would a 1/4" spacer be more accurate? Or just leave it with no spacer?

You said you decided! lol Also, when you say 1/2" or 1/4" spacer do you mean the spacer thickness itself or what lift it will provide you?

I know!!! I'm paranoid haha, just wanting to make sure I do it right the first time. It will be a 1/2" top plate giving ~.75-1" lift. I want to make sure my bumps will still function properly

If you're concerned about bottoming your shocks out before your bumpstops then just get the bumpstop spacers. Install your top plate spacers, install bumpstops with spacers, and cycle your suspension. If you need the spacers, then keep them. If your stock bumpstops are fine, then just sell the spacers on TW for a little less than what you bought them for.

You're way overthinking this and I understand you don't want to damage your shocks. So get the bumpstop spacers and that's that.

Why not just put the winch set up on an go from there to decide what size of a spacer to get:notsure:
Another option may just get a hidden receiver setup an put the winch in a cradle to mount only when needed.:ohsnap:

    Ps beautiful truck

    compress and extend.

But trust me and the others that have posted on here, you are overthinking this and making it needlessly complicated. Contact Headstrong, Wheeler's offroad, and maybe someone like accutune to see what they say.

I contacted wheeler's and they couldn't give me a straight answer on if I would need spacers and which sizes with a 1/2" top plate.
