Foam rolling is great. I usually try and just have my girlfriend soft/deep tissue massage me though. I just need to remind myself to stretch more often, and warm up better. When I go out to surf my warmup is maybe a jog down to the water, a few arm circles, little static stretch for 30 seconds and paddle out  yesterday I just jogged down to the water and went straight out. Was not my best idea, and I'm feeling it today

Have you tried Flax Seed Oil and Fish Oil?

You need to take about 2-3 times the reccomended dose for heart health but it has helped me with joint stiffness and pain that comes from rigorous workout routines.
I will swear by that stuff.

Also Yoga. For real. I can workout like a mad man if I do yoga once a week.

No. My girlfriend tried to get me to take it too. I probably should take it. I had a weird reaction once with fish oil and was sick all day and tasted fish oil in my throat all day, haven’t taken it since lol.

Yoga is great. I used to do it at least once a week when I was In college cuz they had a student day for $5 a class. I prefer doing it in a class but I guess I should just find some flows on YouTube or something and do them. I’m lazy is what it comes down to. Trying to break that though

Take your fish oil with a meal. I take mine at night before bed so I don’t get that fish burps side effect (or rather I don’t notice in my sleep lol).

Love bicep workouts, hate traps and back, though traps look fucking awesome after a workout.

No, I still avoid it because of the damn forearm issue. It's only prominent if I hit them hard so now I am just like meh.

Idk what it is but I don’t like it.

Yesterday was P90X Back and Biceps day. I quit halfway through. I am not going to dedicate half a day to biceps. All it does is jack my wrists and elbows up and I feel its unnecessary.

I found out though I can only do like 10lbs on a preacher curl LOL. Left shoulder just won’t allow it.

I don’t do preacher curls anymore - I got to a point where I was doing sets at 80lbs and either my wrist or forearm felt like it was ripping or breaking.

Switched to doing 15lb dumbells and running through a cycle and have been feeling stronger and better. But I still dedicate half a day to biceps and the other half to back

I dedicated 10-15 mins to biceps. How can you do the same time workout to a muscle 1/10th the size?

After surgery my bicep struggles to straighten at the end and my shoulder just gives out.

I do low weight bicep exercises as well. Like 25lb dumbells maybe 30s on a heavy day. I’m just not feeling a benefit of throwing around big weight.

    I agree with this.
I love Tony Horton and his workouts but... I’m not agreeing with his excessive focus on the bis and traps. Your large movements in chest, back, and shoulders should tax those muscle groups enough where they don’t need to be emphasized.

Super true. The high weight bicep stuff is overrated. I'll see dudes swinging around 100lb barbells and throwing their entire body into getting the weight up - I don't get it frankly haha. Does your shoulder give out on regular curls too? Or is the way you sit for preachers causing most of the issues?

We have monthly challenges at the gym to keep things interesting. This months challenge is a 100 yard Farmers Walk for max weight.

I thought it was a good idea to give 290 a go this afternoon after working up to 495x5 assisted deadlifts this morning.

    FAIL.

Just preachers. If I’m standing I have no problem with my arm doing the full ROM.
Must be how the biceps tendon is activated with the rotator cuff in that position.

This is my first time trying preacher curls since surgery so I was pretty much that guy who goes to curl and then my arm gives out and the weight slams down making everyone look up and stare.

Then I walk away in shame...

I recently bought some Flax Seed Oil and have been taking the recommended amount of 1 tablespoon daily. We’ll see if it helps with my joints...

Typically you have to take a heavy dose, like 2-3 times what's recommended for heart health.

I take 2400 mg of Flax Seed Oil and Fish Oil (each) per day (typical dose is 1200mg). I'm 5'9'' and 158lbs. Bigger guys probably need to go for the triple dose.

Has anyone here gotten spectacular results from taking a B12 supplement? Not necessarily gym results per se.
