Very nice. I've been contemplating a SUA conversion myself. I don't have intentions of building a full desert truck but some more up travel would be nice.

 

My leafs are flat so I got little travel

 

The forklift makes removing the bed 300x easier than any previous method I have tried. Very nice piece of equipment to have access to.

I received the third member from ECGS on Friday. They got my third torn down, repaired, and sent back to me within a weekend and it was covered under warranty. Was a little disappointed once I saw the box and how clear it was that the carrier had handled the package poorly.

 

Also, after a conversation with @Supra4x4 I got curious at my available travel at ride height with my rear shocks. I measured 5.5" at ride height which puts my at about 45% of travel. During my rebuild, I went to a 1" shorter eyelet so I'm now at 6.5" or 54%. I'm not running a bypass, so the zone percentages aren't as important but it gives me an idea. I'm actually happy with the new setup as the rear up travel has always been a weak point, however I doubt I will be able to use all available travel due to my current bumps.

I'm hoping to get the hydros in there soon and use all of the available travel when compressed. May be the game changer for my rebound issues.

 

How do you springs look? Mine start to go negative after only like 2" of compression

Really though their not that bad. I don't carry a ton of weight most of the time. I barely go negative where the current bumps are set as is.

 

Yeah, that's my limit on uptravel setup. At full bump im probably a good 2 inches into negative travel? I need to look, I forget, been awhile.

 

Sounds about right. Honestly, I'm not even that concerned about negative arch as long as I can get a decent amount of up travel for the higher speed stuff. The bumps should do the trick if I can make the rear use all 6.5" of shaft.

 

Same, in rockcrawling we used to wring those things out back and forth and they were ok. If the springs flatten out after a few years, oh well, i'll go SUA or just replace them.

 

Took the truck for a drive yesterday! Running out of time for the trip but there are only a few items left on the list before she's Baja ready!

 

I've got nothing more exciting to share. Put a new exhaust on the truck to make room for other things and now its loud. Reminds me of my Ranger in High School. It will likely not remain like this for long but it'll serve the purpose for now.

One day left! Truck runs and drives well. I'm excited to give this new rear valving a try on the dirt. I can already feel the difference on the street.

I got one of the hood pins done, such a PITA. Probably put the second one of hold until after the trip and focus now on the battery wiring. I don't trust my current battery that much.
