That’s correct...In Pa. if nobody is hurt and/or neither vehicle needs towed they won’t do anything other than assist people in getting info from the other parties involved. They may ‘run’ license plates and driver ID but not much else...ask me how I know.

So no accident report is made? How do the insurance companies determine which party is at fault?

OP - glad to hear you are okay; that's the most important thing. It's too bad some people lack accountability for their actions, or awareness of how their actions might effect others. As frustrating as all of this is, remain positive. Life catches up with people like that eventual - rest well knowing that.

Btw - what part of WV are you from?

Each party involved contacts their insurance company(s) and they make a determination based on damage, point of impact etc...

Most people aren't dishonest by nature so it usually works out just fine. I have not been in an accident in many years but have been if several in my life and never have I had an issue with someone trying to put blame where it didn't belong.

Seriously? A guy that uses no capital letters to begin a sentence or question, and no apostrophes when needed, is questioning another person’s use of the English language?

Get over yourself dude...I hope your truck never NEEDS TOWED

Sorry to hear and I bought myself a dash-cam for these reasons. Los Angeles drivers are some of the worse drivers you'll encounter and quick to blame you.

Check out the Viofo A119s as one of the best budget front cams under $100. I've had it for over a year and it's been working great.

    Glad you're ok.

Holy Mother of God, someone else is bothered by this too. I see it everywhere and it drives me up a wall. It's part of my "humanity is getting dumber" theory. Now we use freaking caveman baby talk and it's just accepted as normal.

    I agree.

I've heard way to many accident stories where the other person tries to make something up. I need to get a dash cam as well.

    Do they actually view it?

Where I'm at, they usually don't bother with the who's at fault. Unless the conducting an actually investigation. Commercial truck crash, or a fatal to near fatal crash.

They usually will say it's a civil matter and not get involved, and rightfully so.

    Same crap everyone else got

So if someone runs a red light and as a result damages your vehicle, it's up the the insurance companies to figure out who is at fault? How would this be possible aside from pulling traffic cam footage (doubtful the ins. company goes this far) or a police report stating what happened based on the testimonies of the 2 parties involved and whatever if any witness that would around to give a statement. Honest question, b/c I've been involved in an accident where the individual who hit me said I didn't yield to them but they ran the light and I was backed up by 2 witnesses that the officer had taken their statements and mentioned in his accident report.
