You were the cool one when you were a kid then. I played piano, guitar and violin growing up as a kid! lol

 

did you do cool BMX stuff or did you just ride it on sidewalks?

I've always thought anything in this field of sports was awesome, but I did grow up playing Tony Hawk video games and watching xgames and stuff.

 

hahaha no I was a nerd too. if I wasn't riding I was playing pokemon or video games.

 

I jumped stairs and just generally jumped over as much as I could. I liked riding fast through campus in the middle of the night. That was my favorite.

 

I used to ride a ripstik around campus sometimes haha, just for shits and giggles. then me and my roommates got scooters and would ride those in the parking garage

 

Sounds like fun. Never rode either of those in school. Lol. I did stop riding my BMX bike as much after I moved off campus. I started riding dual sport motorcycles at that point. Still did the same idiotic stuff, just much faster. Lol.

 

I'm looking to pick up a dual sport bike soon, to commute back and forth to work. Looking at a KTM 650 right now!

 

is there a sport name for the group of skateboards/rollerblades/bmx bikes/etc that all kinda do the "skate park" thing? or are they all just called by their respective name? I feel like there should be a "group" name for those sports...

 

That'd be a great bike. I currently ride a DRZ400. Its actually the second one I've owned. Previously I owned a plated CRF450x; it would rip but the maintenance was a bit much for daily riding. Oil changes every 400 miles made me switch back to a DRZ where I change it every 1000 and that's a bit often. Haha.

 

Extreme Sports? I think that's the closest to a grouping as you get. That encompasses a lot more than just skate park stuff though. So I'd assume its better to call them by their respective names.

 

yeah I guess so, extreme kinda includes MTB and like hanggliding and stuff to me? I kinda always call them "X Game Sports" lol. I just see a lot of folks that do all of them so it would be tedious to say oh yeah I skateboard, I roller blade, and I do BMX...when they could say I do "X" whatever X is...needs a name lol

 

Maybe you are the one destined to come up with this name. You are the chosen one.

I looked at Suzukis too. How is it at highway speeds 70-75mph? I found a good deal on a CRF250, but I wanted something with a little more oomph! I'm glad you said something about the maintenance on the CRF450, as I almost picked one up earlier in the year! Oil changes and valve adjustments every couple hundred miles doesn't sound like fun.

 

We should all get in to street luging....

 

Oh, and I saw the first ever X Games in San Fransisco when I lived in Cali. It was insane!
