If MY truck didn't stutter, that combo would be nearly perfect (with the blip delay taken care of too).

Lol, I regret ever making that joke.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by it being difficult to deal with getting going in traffic? I'm a 15 year old boy at heart, so the "grunt" you speak of is very intriguing, if I'm understanding correctly.

I made my own kit from pieces readily available at the parts store. took less than an hour. It is a great Saturday morning project. Just get all the parts Friday night. You don't want to do this right after driving around town.

If you hate that delay, the delete mod is for you!

I did it myself, but several others used the pre-made kit (no fucking around with bending/flaring tube or worrying about getting the right parts). I didn't find it difficult at all.

The one critical thing to realize though, is that the fitting that goes in the slave cylinder requires a longer "snout" than your run of the mill fitting. It won't seat properly when tightened down. I just re-used the stock one - all good.

    No problem.

With FOB, there is a ton of new torque right at idle. With that, I was stalling at least once daily, mainly in traffic. If someone started rolling, I should have done a one-two count before trying to get going because peeps around here roll away from stops like they live in a retirement village in Florida. On FOB, the Taco just wants to eat.

It was the same with folks along, trying to give them a Sunday drive. I would sometimes stall or be more aggressive than I wanted. No real middle ground.

Again, I have a stock Taco for weight and wheels.

I'm on my 4th tank of 87 Base and only killed it twice. Once pulling out uphill with the fam along and once in a parking lot just being tired.

DOn't worry about clogging the thread with the questions you're asking, they're not bullshit and this isn't the dev (retarded) thread.

You will feel an improvement with 87 Base, but with that weight, I'd start on FOB. @RedBeard1 and @mZiggy will have the good words for you there.

I think only one person, who bravely posted up, had a bit of a challenge? No names or anything.

The only trick is to connect the upper fitting first, this helps the line self-bleed.

The most apparent difference with FOB is definitely down low grunt. As with Tony, I'm stock so it's a big change for me. On FOB 91, I could run in 6th on back roads at 1100-1200 RPM. AS long as there were no sizeable hills, no problem at all. Lol, downshift to 3rd if I had to move.

Being able to switch tunes at will is a massive benefit. If the Taco came with 87 Base, I would probably have been happy for life, but it is nice mess around. Also, the coming changes sound just great.

In the end, the motor feels normal now. No stressing about missing torque.

Ahaha, BMW does it and you can turn it on/off. The truck knows what gear it's in and speed so i imagine it could be a thing. hero/lazy mode haha.

I'm really pumped about eliminating high RPM rev hang though. This motor is fun to wring out but the rev hang punishes you for using the RPMs.

    Mostly stuff I built.
My truck is a part of the reason we have the “Fat Kid Tune” and the original ADM mod truck. The grunt is there with the FOB tune. It makes my pig of a truck keep up in Houston traffic like a bat out of hell. I can see that the FOB tunes might be a little twitchy on a stock truck. I have stripped mine down to just a set of sliders, bumper and an aux battery running the 91FOB tune. It is a hand full with the weight off of it but nothing to hard to handle. Armored up It scales right at 5900lbs I averaging 16 mpg mixed city/highway and I get 18.5-19 highway at that weight. Hope that input helps.

Lol, i was just thinking about how long I've been able to use 2nd in parking lots. We sometimes forget our stock calibration woes.

Exactly. Someone was complaining in the AT thread (yeah, yeah, imagine that) about their Taco turning 1,100rpm. Looking at the tach on the next drive, I wasn't sure what their issue was.
