I haven't actually. I mean you're just cutting off a couple of pipe after the muffler, shouldn't really make a difference. Then again, I rarely go WOT.

I have always changed my exhaust on lots of my vehicles, my Mustang being the last. I too was looking for a nice muffler to weld in as my neighbor who has a 17 Taco has tried 5 different mufflers 2 Flows, Spintech,Magnaflow and some others. I didn't like the sounds. His brother in law came up from NC and had a DCLB 18 with the Pro exhaust and the TRD CAI. I got to drive his, I was sold. Perfect sound, no drone, no popping and no bullshit. Just a clean, crisp deep sound and when paired with the CAI it sounds great! I just installed both on my DCLB and very pleased. I have a lot of time and money in my truck like a lift on 5100s, ECGS clamshell bushing, tinted windows, AVS bug shield and vent visors, auto start, heated Clazzios, homelink mirrorand OEM Pro grill with some TRD Sema wheels and didn't want some loud ass crap sounding muffler screaming look at me. The Pro exhaust aka Borla is as sweet sounding as it gets. Got both the Pro exhaust and TRD CAI for under $700 from the dealer. Of course I scored a huge savings.

TRD pro exhaust is made by Borla? Did not know that... Borla one does sound nice! Sounds a bit throatier than the TRD Pro one

I just changed out my Mbrp exhaust for the TRD one and ill confirm that a 3 inch exhaust is too big and you lose quite a bit of torque. It's easier to notice the loss of torque when you have a manual, with the mbrp, I noticed that I have to give it more gas or slip the clutch more to get smooth a take off otherwise the engine bogs down and stutters. The TRD exhaust gave me back the torque I lost down low but gives up top end power which is perfect as I prefer low end torque in a truck.

Thanks for that. I have the AFE CAI and been looking at how they affect the exhaust sound. The AFE has some drone at 2k and I find myself either gunning it up or letting off the gas a bit to get out of that drone. Worried that adding a new exhaust will make it way worse.

I went with Borla. No noticeable power increase, but sounds nice. Looks good too, and they claim it’ll outlast the truck.

Thank you all for your insights.

Im really interested in this fact. From all the posts here its seems like Borla and TRD Pro exhaust seem like the two best options for my desires. However some are saying they are the same yet some are saying different. Do you have any specific info about the TRD Pro being a Borla exhaust?

Here's a video of a borla s type cold start and quick rev after install (hence the blocks).

I've had it for about 8 months now and couldn't be happier. Its a nice throaty sound after 2500rpm and does not drone or pop at all. Acceleration sounds awesome. I did not really buy it for horsepower increase, only a more noticeable sound so I can't speak to any gains or losses. I can take an updated driving video later today if anyone wants. Overall I'm satisfied.

Don't mind the sound syncing issue at the start of the video
