Bought a thing today. Always felt like these tap and die sets are hopefully something I'll never use but with all the problems we've been having lately at mod days I went ahead and bought one.

Well I think I played myself today getting an alignment

All four tie rods are siezed What kind of tie rods should I reply them with? I plan on doing it myself then sending it back to finish alignment.

I was hoping to tag along with @Cav_BluTRD Saturday but looks like I won't be doing that anymore

I’d just hit the auto zone and buy what they offer. But one pair at a time so you can grab that twenty off of them.

 

After watching a video and understanding tie rods more I need to replace left and right inner and outer- so I assume 2 pairs. The nut between the two to hold them together is siezed.

Anyone know if there is a difference between a tie rod end and the tie rod? It seems like the outer or inner tie rods are each one piece to me

It looks like AutoZone duralast tie rods have. A lifetime warranty so I will probably go with them.

 

The ends are pieces that thread onto the rods. Cast steel with provision for a ball joint. If the sell them separately you may be able to get the ends off of the old rods to reuse them but I’ll be honest, those ball joints are likely clapped out by now and it would be safer to just replace the ends as well.

 

Just got off the phone with my dialysis clinics administrator. Davita would like me to go to the District to represent people with chronic and end stage kidney disease. She said she knew I was the one patient that would be perfect to send on this all expense paid trip.

I had to break her heart when I admitted that I’m allergic to politicians as after about five minutes around them, they make me break out in abusive language.
