My only disappointment so far was it didn't come with the 3 piece mopar steel bumper with winch plate. You can remove the end pieces and it makes it a stubby.

Gladiator has the same option. So you don't even need an aftermarket bumper to fit a winch.

Highly likely. I had the metal debate about buying the Rubicon for an overlandish build... a 4:1, 4:10's, and a 1600lb payload off the lot would totally be worth dealing with a Jeep given I used to be a Jeep dealer tech. Not to mention the heavy steel bed would likely make the trade for a ~400lb aluminum tray more palatable down the road.

Unfortunately you have to get the Sports to get that payload (meaning you lose the other three) and the Rubi is no better than a Tacoma (worse than a JLU for that matter) in payload. I keep repeating this but it gives up everything that makes a jeep worth the headache to pay that much of a premium.

being able to remove the top and doors is priceless. That's what would have gotten me to pay extra for the gladiator. I have the sunroof and power rear sliding window, but it's not the same. Plus starting with the JK's they got surprisingly comfortable road manners (for a jeep). Good enough for me at least......It's tempting.

Don't forget the fold down windshield. (Not that I think I would ever drive off road like that, but it would be kinda cool).

And let's not forget 2 very cool features that I really like.

The "off road pages". (Only avail on the 8.4 uconnect).

And the bread crumb feature in NAV. It gives you the ability to drop bread crumbs (waypoints) while on an unfamiliar trail so you can find your way back out.

Less than 30 mins to remove the doors.
1 minute to put the top in freedom mode.
2 mins to drop top all the back.

That's almost as ridiculous as the $54k MSRP on the new Chevy Blazer RS I saw.

Yeah I hope Toyota and the others just realize competition is heating up and step up their game.

    Like, so many.
I may have said this before, but a local dealer has a non Rubicon Gladiator for sale and it does not look good in person. I think I would like it with some mods (larger tires, different bumpers), but as is, that's a hard pass for me.

Yeah you really need 35"+ tires on them, but it's such an easy fix.

Saw one this weekend while we were looking for a car for the wife. Stopped and about puked my breakfast all over the door. Sticker was $61.5 and another $7500 dealer demand markup! For these kind of prices, Jeep should of made new body panels and interior appointments, not used off the shelf Jeep Wrangler parts. Parts down justify the price IMO!

Digging all of "Wayoflife" coverage of it, it sure is getting out and about.

Rubicon is the way to go, even base one. Dana 44 ftw. It's cool for sure. I just dont trust the quality, specifically Chrysler/Fiat electronics.

I like the the thing, just not the price. I’d love a loaded Rubicon, with a manual. And the new Leer, Snugtop, ARE shell on the bed, there gonna look pretty nice.

All this Jeep truck talk is making me want to see if I can find a Brute kit for my LJ.
