Probably because you were aiming at the wheels and there's so much space between the spokes.

How thick is it? 1/8? Bet it can hold a lot more weight than you give it credit for.

The clamp is 3/16. But I keep telling myself it is stronger than it looks.

I just don't want my bike to fall off on the highway or something. Carbon wouldn't fare very well against pavement and oncoming traffic. :(

Carbon fiber and you're worried about weight? Overly concerned, I'd say. There's probably a strength specification out there somewhere for your pieces, and give you some peace of mind.

Anybody out there wire up their rock lights to function as courtesy lights? I want to use an on-off-on switch to wire up the lights so that in one of the on positions the lights come on with the dome light I.e. when the truck is unlocked. The other on position would obviously activate them whenever switched to that position. Trying to find a good way to tap into the dome light circuit. I was hoping to use an add-a-fuse on the dome circuit but it appears that fuse is always hot, not only when the dome light is on.
