All my Socal peeps please save yourself the headache and avoid California Tires & Wheels in San Bernardino like the plague. I went there to swap out tires on my volk te37x to bigger ones after getting a cmc done by Beast Fab (awesome cmc job highly recommended). My volks were flawless basically new since they were barely 2 months old. As they were slapping my wheels back on after they swapped the tires, I notice a couple of their workers huddled to one wheel, my gut dropped and as I suspected, they scratched my wheels. Of course right off the bat they denied doing any damages and it was my fault for not doing a walk around with them to confirm the wheels are damaged free.

I wouldn't be as pissed if it the damage were done by my own hands or going down a trail.

Anyone that does that kind of wheeling doesn't even bother to look twice at their wheels for damages unless it's to make sure they aren't cracked/failing lol.

I'm not a wheel guy either and mine are gashed and beat to hell, but I do take the time to repaint them a couple times a year. Just rattle can black.

Anyway while I don't relate to the feeling of being angry over a scratched wheel, I do think it's frustrating when a company doesn't take care of a paying customer's property and then skirts the blame to avoid confrontation. Unfortunately a lot of places like this are trying to get the job done fast and most of the workers don't get paid all that well, so the incentive to be extra careful isn't always there.

Even if you had done a walk around they'd probably have another excuse as to how it wasn't their fault, or how they aren't liable.

Just looked at the photos, that's nothing to be really upset about...some color matching touch up paint and it'll be like it never happened

    No its exposed metal,

I know my wheels will not stay in new condition forever due to wear and tear, I'm simply pissed off at the fact that they damaged the wheels and lied straight to my face. I'm simply giving anyone that considered using these guys as a warning. This post wasnt made because my wheels costs a bit more than others. Even if I had cheap wheels and got damaged from their installation I would still feel the same.

LOL I've been through that trail with my first gen taco, I've given up on the crazy trails so I got some wheels I always wanted because it's just mall crawl, fire roads, and driving in a dirt road to a fishing hole.

I'm off the hard trails as well, now more into less rocks with more dirt to give the truck more speed :)
I feel for you don't get me wrong i've been in those shoes before, so i know all this darn scratches always look awfull the very first time. The damage is minimal and you'll spend more money trying to give those fackers a lesson. Carry on and get a little touch up paint and they'll look good again.
You'll laugh about this stuff later on. Happy wheeling bro.
