Some squeaking after 8 months. Every time I got out of the truck I would hear it a little bit and it drove me crazy. I read up on all the solutions, but I didn’t want to disassemble the leaf pack to put the various liners in that would eventually wear out.

The squeak is common across any vehicle that uses leaf springs and I followed a solution recommended on a Ford forum. I bought some aerosol Tri Flow and sprayed my leaf pack and let it sit overnight. The squeak went away and it has been several months squeak free. If that’s the only maintenance required then I’m happy with it.

Something else to consider: the front settled more than the rear. Here were my post-lift center of hub to fender numbers and my 10 month numbers:

    Post Lift
    DF: 22.5”
    PF: 22.5”
    DR: 24.5”
    PR: 24.5”

    10 months later
    DF: 22”
    PF: 22”
    DR: 24.5”
    PR: 24.5”

It gives it a little more rake than I was hoping for. If I were to do it again, I would consider just getting an add-a-leaf. The medium duty Dakars feel great with a small load, but are pretty stiff with an empty bed.

I stumbled across this file in another thread and wanted to share it here too. It's a TSB from ARB for Dakars, and how to fix the squeaking. It's good info.

Installed my lift in the truck yesterday took 6 hours for all four corners. Went with 5100’s all around and 884 OME Springs and AAL in the back. Put the 1/4” spacer for the taco lean in also. Gained about 3”. New wheels next.

I was having squeaking with my leafs and I sprayed some fluid film on them around 2months ago and haven’t heard a peep. It’s temporary but it cost $11 and I can’t complain.

2B91624F-D377-431C-9395-1BAB36130951.jpg Ok fellas, this is a “before”. Bone stock. The plan is a deaver 1.5” AAL and 5100s all around fronts at 1.75. Is this a reasonable idea? Bear in mind that this truck is my daily, and the only off pavement driving I do is as shown.

compared to stock geom, truck sits 1/1.5" in front over stock and the rear is around 2-3" depending on loads

eezi awn has a half rack option for those running habitats

any rack option will require drilling for the feet
