My father and his brothers when they were young tried to rescue a cat that was up a tree. It didn’t go so well for them, cat didn’t want to be rescued.

When they described the cat to my great grandfather he laughed and told em they was messing with Bob’s cat and they was lucky they got to keep all their fingers.

I've know a lot of women like that to. ;)

Smart, she could feel what I was thinking. Kept her on the truck with me most of her life, would roll the window down on the passanger side of the truck. I whistle with my two fingers its loud. I'd whistle she would hear me in the truck jump out the window and find me. I have cleared parking lots before. She's look at them like what the hell is there problem. Human didn't bother her. A dog would get her wound up. was not scared to fight but I had to keep her claws down or she would of tore my back up. That was her safety zone. I'd tell her up she would jump up on my shoulders. I've seen her dead jump straight up a good 7 foot before. I'd bend down had her trained to the word up she knew it was time to get on my shoulders.
She got old and restless. Could not keep her from walking in front the windshields of the truck after 8 years and started getting right ill at me the last year she I had her. ( kinda like that other bread we seem to love so much) She had gray showing, my daughter could handle her, took her to my daughter told her don't let her out the house for a week, back door was not shut completey, she was gone.
Like a dog and I had two of the best bird dogs in South East NC. When they get old, and know its time they get restless and want to go off. It won't tiggers time yet but I think she missed something she had never felt before. This was back in the late 70. Cat loved POT. She could here you take a toke she was in your lap wanting her hit. Laughed so hard at that cat lost my breath many times when I had her. She knew she was safe and had a home with me but a personality all her own. Come to think of it, ain't that just like all the other women we know. :)

Hey Guys... have a question for you "more experienced" I'm an avid off roader and outdoor guy. Have my Tacoma for tent camping and more rugged trips. Have an F250 with FWC for longer trips with my honey ... she likes convenience. I'm retired and make as many runs as possible. I'm in TX and there is an avid group of guys and gals that are out and about. That said they are all of the younger generations and a lot with kids. I seem to always be that OLD GUY and seldom if ever anyone near my age (68). They never seem to have an issue and are great to be with but I'd like more from our / my generation. Seems all my friends that do get out are the RV crowd with big trailers or rigs and think I'm crazy. They love the crowds and showing off I think. Primitive is not anywhere in their vocabulary. Should I keep being that old guy or should I look for alternatives?

Do what suits you I think there is an older group that does what you do the name is escaping me but they use vans and trucks and are out in the Southwest areas. I have a bumper pull small (19') off grid ( Not off road) camper ie solar and everything 12v except AC and Microwave lol . I am past tents... lol and a lot younger then you are but medically yeah no I would not primitive camp. Take a look at @Casper66 Tiger Moth build thread that is off road camping. All in all just do what makes you and the S/O happy!!

    Morning all

    Happy birthday @gugman

It took a while but we found a good group out here, not about age but maturity and similar likes. If you like the young group, and they go out a lot, stick with it.
Between this and the 60s thread you might find a few like minded people.

Coincidentally, I just watched "AG DAY" (rfdtv) and they did a video story about this guy.

Farming is one of the most dangerous professions. It also has a way of producing tired old men....who make mistakes while exhausted....

    Shit happens...

Tough guy....not sure I could do that....
