Start you own thread with tuning tips. And the first post u can add what ever you want. When ever u want. And then sell tunes that you want too. Along with cam gears lol. And future things...

Thanks man, but I hope to never have to do it again, lol. It’s been like a year later and I’m still finding aluminum shavings stuck to my socks!

always doing awesome work sir!!! If i get some time this sunday ill test my 25 / 50% throttle scenarios of acis functions and how it affects MAF numbers.

Also am i correct in assuming that 25% throttle would mean a throttle angle of 84deg X .25 = 21.25deg and 50% would be 84deg x .5 = 42deg. Reason I ask is for the tests id like to set it to where if i mash the throttle i get a max of those respective percentages for consistency sake.

You give me too much credit! But it is very rewarding to know that what I'm able to put out is helpful.

You're "pretty much" correct, but 25% would be 21deg

how in the hell did i manage to divide 84 by 4 and get a decimal is beyond me.... jezus... maybe its the 4th day in a row of a 10-13hr day at work on top of a hella busy month. o_O

At least my thinking was on the right page :D.

Like stated if i get a chance on sunday ill test those two throttle positions for more data points with ACIS in its 3 modes (stock, short runner, long runner). 25% is about what it takes to cruise at 55-60mph in my truck (21ish % for 55 23ish for 60 25ish for 65), so im rather curious within that 25% range what ACIS could do. And 50% (42 deg) seems to be around what a normal acceleration would be to merge on a freeway.

Ill be honest I am primitive in thinking that more MAF airflow at a same throttle position means a more efficient motor and thus more fuel efficient / more powerful motor .... so correct me if i am wrong.

Back to tech talk @ThomasMore66 Your shift flare. I got a TRD cal from @mightytacoman (and would love to compare your stock TRD cal PM me *kissy face*), and noticed some interesting things with regards to auto trans and the TRD cal vs the NA cal.

@mightytacoman correct me if i am wrong you are an auto right?

If the directly above answer is YES then the following is true of the stock tunes:

There are some differences in the auto trans tuning as far as shift pressures etc between the TRD cal and NA cal which might account for shift flare.

First: TRD cal has grouped gears 1/2 pressures together, and gears 3/4/5/6..... YES 6TH... WTF??? FYI: NA cal has gear pressures of gear 1/2 identical and 3/4/5 identical, so its not soooo weird, but why in the hell is there a 6th gear mention when there isnt a 6th gear for an auto in a 2nd gen taco.

    (left TRD CAL, right NA)
    TRD-NA-1.jpg

Second: Different (less) gear pressure for 1/2 gears for the TRD cal in lower throttle openings vs N/A at less than 40% throttle.

    (left TRD CAL, right NA)
    TRD-NA-2.jpg

Third: Different (less) gear pressure for 3/4/5/6 (lawls 6th) gears for the TRD cal in lower throttle openings vs N/A at less than 30% throttle

(again left TRD CAL, right NA)
    TRD-NA-3.jpg

Outside of those difference, everything else from what I can tell is identical to the NA cal as far as the trans.

@nd4spdbh you are correct in that I drive an auto and that it was flashed with toyotas latest trd calibration 3ywg3200. Maybe @ThomasMore66 is running a different stock calibration? I run the ratiotek kit which completely eliminated my shift flare and I have the slu solenoid turned in about a 1/4 turn.

Would I be able to increase the voltage output on my truck to let’s say 14.5v with this software? The increase Would be for running a larger agm battery. Then I wouldn’t have to buy a voltage booster.

I have a special fuse that is doing that for me as I have a northstar. If you want details it's in the lighting thread.

I read in another thread about a voltage booster that replaces the alt fuse, but since I already have the hp tune, was just curious if it could do it

Thats what i thought. Very interesting the reference to a 6th gear. if Thomas wants to hit me up id love to compare, sounds like your trans has had some mechanical magic sprinkled on it haha.

So you've been busy. I haven't had time to look at the trans stuff at all.

I do have a WAT valve body that vastly improves the shifts, but I do still get 4-5 flare. It's worse when I manually shift from 4-5. I'd love to look at this today, but my wife has the home computer in Arizona. My work computer won't allow me to install outside software... The other thing I'd really like to improve is the kick-down when I start leaning on the gas I'd like that to happen faster. If it's in 5th and I stomp the gas, it seems to think about it way too long for me.
