I'm starting to research communications and stuff. What is this kind of antenna for and what kind is it?

I'm going to to go with a amber bumper lightbar first for sure. Cuts through rain, snow and fog much better than up top.

That's a good point. For those that do have bumper light bars or fog lights, do you only use them when there is no oncoming traffic? I am curious to see if they are blinding to other drivers.

The Cali Raised LED 3x2 Amber Pods are awesome during the day but a little too high for oncoming traffic or within 1,000 ft behind someone so I switch them off in those proximities.

The only lights that should be used on the road are DOT/SAE compliant fogs, i.e. actually legal to run fog lights. They'll have a cut off so they don't blind oncoming drivers. Anyone who runs anything else on the road with oncoming traffic is an asshole.

I like the ARB awning, looks like it is a perfect fit.

Ya, not a fan of the ones that extend pass the front or rear of the cab.

What size awning is that? How did you attach it... what brackets?

It looks great, and this is exactly what I'd like to do.

I have some side lights (rigid scene lights) and some BD S2's off the back. I do put kayak racks on there when needed (decade old yakima cradles that go on a 1x1 square bar... so I had to buy and extra 1x1 crossbar when I got my prinsu). I also have a thule fishing rod holder (Castaway, since discontinued) which I've put on there, but now that goes on a bed rack.

I run the wires for the lights down through a wire loom attached to the side of the windshield (drivers side) and into the engine bay connected to a switch pro.

I'm not really too enamored with the profile of the rigid scene lights, but too lazy to try and find a lower profile solution. every 3 to 4 months I research BD rock lights, but then remember that I don't think they make anything to be able to angle them downward.

I have a hard shelled case ready to go, but I'm trying to figure out the hardware to mount and remove easily (knobs instead of nuts). Most people seem to use lock nuts, but my truck won't fit in my garage with the box on top, so I'm trying to find a solution for easy on easy off. I also don't really have anything to put in the box yet (recovery gear wish list created, but not acted upon yet), so I'm in no real rush.

Do any of you guys find the Prinsu deflector LOUD at interstate speeds? I find mine so loud that when I'm not using the full rack I keep the wind deflector shifted behind the sunroof to cut down on the noise. When I went to burning man last year I put a section of pipe insulation on the front edge and it worked perfectly...ugly as hell, but effective. I've been wanting to do a more elegant solution with EVA foam or similar, just haven't gotten around to it. I talked to Prinsu when I first got it, and they offered a little clip-on strip for like $25 that was supposed to cut down on the noise...but it seemed pricey for something that didn't fill that gap between the deflector and roof, which is where I discovered the howling was coming from.

I'm not either unless there's a prinsu on the back as well. The large ones just have so much more utility.

My truck but only had the awning up there a week before I sold it, since I'm moving towards a soft topper.

Edit: Also, adjust the deflector to its lowest setting to close the gap more.

Edit edit: Ok I need take the time to read. lol. You've done all that. Yeah man I got nothing - that weather stripping did the job for me perfectly.

Do you have the wind deflector attached in the lowest position so that the bottom edge touches the roof (with a protective strip on it)? That should solve a bit of it. However, I have do this, and still close the sunshield on my sunroof to reduce windnoise when on the highway.
