Sometimes I'll dilute my gas with distilled water, I just eyeball it, but I'm guessing about a 5 gas to 1 water ratio. Have seen massive increases in performance and mpg, could just be my new windshield wipers though.

I have also noticed an increase in fuel economy if I just do all my driving in 6th gear, from start to stop. Haven't tried reverse yet, can anyone chime in about this?

On a more serious note, since I've let Jesus take the wheel, I get free gas.

Yeah...if I was filling up that often, I'd stick to 87 octane and toss a bottle of treatment in the tank once in a while. Debates are plentiful on which treatment to use, I used the Chevron Techron treatment in my old vehicle once every 5k and it seemed to stay reliable.

still runs, 98 Dakota with a little over 300k. runs great, only issues have ever been fairly routine (water pump and 2 alternators).

I'm willing to bet 99% of people that get 200k+ in their cars & trucks have absolutely no idea about fuel additives or what 'tier' they get their gas from. One of my friends is an engineer at a Chevron refinery here in CA and when I brought up the question of which is best he flat out told me to just buy whatever is cheapest and keep it at 87.

What kind of engineer is he? Petroleum? Software? Civil? Need context before I can commit to retiring 3 weeks earlier.
