Project cold air 3.4

Here are the finished pics. The stock elbow is open right now, i'm trying to move the air through the box for heat transfer, not for induction. Colder air is what i'm looking for. I will measure temps inside the box with it stock, then deckplate, then mine elbow open, then elbow closed. Witch one keeps the air colder ? If i can get enough induction pressure with the elbow closed, then we may have a winner, i kinda doubt it. At highway speed or faster possibly. I want to see how much difference good cold air actually does when its consisant all the time.

 

What are the results of the experiment?

ambient air flows through the box and out the elbow. that is the best way to keep the box cold. engine pulls what it needs from the cold air moving through box. At 35 mph enough air moves through this box to feel like hair dryer on high. i tried with a shop vac hose tied into the box. massive air flow at low speeds. reach down and close the valve i put in and your back to stock if your worried about hard rain at interstate speed.

 

hey you should put a velocity stack on the end of it right up against the K&N for max flow lol

 

or what if you put a big block of dry ice in the box too!

it works well so far. i noticed the initial gains with the deckplate mod, not as loud now, but i seem to get much better mileage. throttle response is much better than stock. remember this is a trial thing, i may bend some tubing for a better look, but metal gets much hotter than plastic, and it's not as smooth inside.
