Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had similar issues and what people had done to remedy the issue.

I bought some Relentless Fab sliders 2 years ago, and got them powder coated at a local shop. The powder coating has held up well everywhere that doesn't get kicked with rocks.

So this will be the second year in a row I have taken them off, hit em with a wire wheel, and repainted with some metal primer, and paint.

Does anyone have a better solution? Something that will hold up to the punishment of getting hit with rocks? Or is this just my life now, repainting every year?

    Here are some pics

Yeah, I cut mine down a decent amount for when I'm not on pavement... wasn't a problem until I got the sliders.

Use spray galv as primer, but yes you will need to do it every year.

Nice build! I recently paid mine off so I'm trying to decide what to do next. Besides the internet where can I pick that spray galv stuff up at?

just prep/paint every year. i don't think there is much you can do to mitigate small rock chips.

i feel like the paint job gets easier each year so the base coats help. plus, you get fancy new looking sliders every time you paint!

I last touched up my sliders in 2017. They are due for another coat this summer though.

Yes, dont even take them off, long piece of cardboard and paint the shit up. Takes about 5 minutes per side.

    What about bed liner?

Or putting some 3M heavy vinyl on the spots that get sandblasted after a paint touch up?

Yeah, I’d touch up and then cover the problem areas with something adhesive. Grip tape, vinyl etc.

You could also paint them and then cut some neoprene to fit. Then zip tie the neoprene to the legs there.

Cardboard and cheap rattle can rust reformer. Just hit mine a couple times a year when I notice some rust showing through.

You could try Steel-It and give feed back. www.steel-it.com and yes it comes in rattle cans. Camburg swears by it.
