Thank you sir. We found her at a shelter and acted fast. We were the lucky ones she's a great dog and already house trained. Now we're working on off leash obedience and calm on command. She'll be a great camping dog

I cut mine here, I don't use a spare tire (Load E Tires), so no problem :D

Just got test fitted with some 285/70/r17’s on my 2nd gen TRD sport prerunner. I’ve been reading a lot about how there will need to be a ton of cutting and modifications for these tires to fit but from the test fit it looks like theres only a minor amount of trimming needed

I don’t have a picture of it at full turn right, but full turn left I could fit my whole hand and phone under (picture 3). Only part that rubs is the front fender and I was told there would be no issues as long as I trim it up a little bit.

I’m freaking out a little this PM: my wife got me a Groupon to detail my truck... I’ve never let anyone else wash or clean my truck since buying it in 2012!

    Dang...that's one clean engine!

Got any tips for cleaning the engine compartment and not messing anything up? Mine is looking pretty grubby and I'd like to get in there and clean things up but could use some pointers.

Don't bother trimming the liner, the first speed bump will just rip it out for you.

Avid bumper guard.. to clean the bay I use Gunk degreaser, let it soak for 10 Minutes, soft bottle brush the dirty stuff and rinse. The I use Gunk engine dressing and wipe clean. Comes out amazing.

See my post above. Also - I cover my aux fuse box and use “shower” setting on the hose. Avoid forcing water in to the electrical bits.

Damn I need to clean that dash....

Anyhow, did this today. I've never really posted here about MY time with this truck, so here goes...

I bought it in Feb. of '17 with 11,xxx on her...I'm assuming PO was a guy that sat around the house and drove to McDonalds once a week for coffee. (nothing wrong with that, I hope to be there someday myself lol).

So since I've had it, there hasn't been much other than oil changes every 3-5K, top off everything else, air in the tires, etc. Next weekend, weather permitting, will be front/rear/transfer case/spark plugs/wheel bearings/brake rotors and pads...fingers crossed it don't rain all fuckin day....or week....or month...or the rest of my damn life (I'm in southern IL...we've had a little rain lately :) ) . I know a lot of it should have been done several times before, but life gets in the way sometimes and before ya know it, you got 100K staring you in the face.

Speaking of the tires....I'm guessing they're factory originals, but they have at least 89K on them (maybe the full 100K) and still don't look that bad. Don't get me wrong, I know they won't make another 100K or anything...and I've got their replacements with 3rd gen sport rims sitting here waiting, but I don't think I've ever had any tire last 89 or 100K before. And I don't mind running the ones I have out a few more miles knowing I have 4 brand new ones on deck and ready to go.

Anyhow....what else....what else.......removed the skid plate. Just didn't like the look with the MGM. Removed the bug shield. Added a hard tri-fold cover to the bed, but wasn't fond of the stupid "cam-lock" things to keep it closed, so I made some similar to a house door latch on both sides. I'll get some pictures sometime...it's hard to describe. Added a pop-n-lock about the same time as the cover...not a big fan...it don't feel right, even after I've lubed the hell out of it. Probably going to go "homemade" electric lock, but just haven't got around to it yet.

Few little odds and ends...red plastidip on the front emblem, then decided that looks like rudolph the red nosed fuckin reindeer coming down the street, so I either had to add more or peel that shit off..............so the next day :) ... I have the grill off and all masked up to do the center "fins", just left and right from the emblem. Still not enough, so a couple days later I have the scoop insert out doing it, and the little useless hockey stick shaped trim around the headlights. Then bought some honeycomb plastic trim and made a piece for the lower...."grill"??....the lower hole anyway, below the grill, and it's red and in place now. I'll try to get a picture of that too sometime and add it here.

I think that's about it. Few other plans, but nothing major. Mostly just plan to upgrade beyond factory on some maintenance items as they come up (shocks/coilovers to name a couple). It's my DD...only way to work, so that has to come first...can't afford to use it for play (at least not HARD play) and then be on foot.

And it's my intention to keep up better on the 30K maintenance (front/rear/tranfer/transmission/sparks/etc), but like I said....sometimes life gets in the way, and there ya are at another 100K...but I'm gonna try.

    Thanks for listening :) .

If you don't mind me asking, around what does it cost to have those fluid changes done?
    • Front diff fluid
    • Rear diff fluid
    • Transmission (drain fill drive 10 miles repeat 3x)
    • Transfer case fluid

    @DLillest
Dealership wanted $617 to do manual trans, front diff, rear diff and T case on mine. I got it all done at a local shop for $175.

Not sure why it wouldn't let me just quote your post
