You: I'm willing to pay no more than $27,000.
Sales: I'll have to check with my manager....
Sorry, my manager said the lowest he can go
Is $25,000. If you agree, initial here and here.
You: hmm...let me think about it.

Hahaha...this is the first I've heard. Bravo to your dealer!

I was recently quoted 7.5% off MSRP (including $1k rebate) from Mountain States.

    Mountain States Toyota, Denver.

MSRP: $41,418 (Off Road with Premium and Tech).
Price before taxes and fees: $35,914

Was quoted the same price going thru Costco, but Mountain States doesn't charge a Dealer Handling Fee and the dealership that was chosen thru Costco did.

Groove Toyota agreed to match Mountain State's price, but after some back and forth, I got a better trade-in deal thru Mountain States.

Looks like competition is really having an impact on pricing. Not long ago, for 2nd generation Tacomas, there was barely any wiggle room from sticker price. At least in my area that was the case...

Prices vary greatly by region. Tacomas are big around here, and according to KBB the average transaction price is still only $1,500 below MSRP. That includes a $750 factory rebate.

This area is big into the hiking, camping and the outdoors, and Tacomas appear to be one of the top vehicles of choice.

Western Washington. It's one of the least competitive new car markets because the dealers around Seattle don't have any other major metro areas people can easily buy from. Portland Oregon is cheaper but it's a 6+ hour round trip from Seattle.

DCLB TRD OR with 'premium' package, lane monitor, assisted brake, JBL (which sounds great BTW). Sticker was a little over $43K - out the door for 38909. USAA financing, so got a great rate. I thought the price was great, but after looking in this thread, might have over paid. But I've been waiting for a LB Cement TRD OR to show up around here for a while. However, no mudguards, and no side step. The non key start FOB is going to be an issue for surfing. SB vs LB, I can lay my boards in the bed, which really helps. Going to have to get a cover of a camper top so my boards don't get stolen, but the longer bed works very well for what I need, but vs the SB, the turn radius and parking are a LOT more difficult. Love that flat cement grey though!

Hey everyone, about to pull the trigger on a '19 ORSB in Cement with technology and premium packages, plus the stock bed cover and third party running boards. I wanted to run the deal by you all to see what you thought. This is my first new car purchase.

    MSRP: $42,542
    Selling Price: $38,563
    TTL: $1940
    Total OTD: $40,500

Am I getting a fair price on this? Thanks!

Does that price include the $1000 Toyota rebate that most regions are offering right now?

Yes it does. Ouch, didn't really think of that. Maybe I'm not saving as much as I thought I was...

Still, my local Toyota dealer doesn’t markup Pros.

My local Dodge Jeep dealer is horrible: they added a $40,000 markup to the only $90,000 Dodge Demon they got...and of course the found a sucker who paid it. I’m sure they will adding $10,000 markups to Gladiators when they get them.

I paid a few hundred more for the A/T, you could probably get a better deal. Do yourself a favor and call Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa, CA (ask for Aaron Trzesniewski) and ask him to quote you the same exact truck. I doubt anyone will come close to his deal.

Haha exactly..... Of all the horror stories you hear about dealerships, I didn't even know what to say. Great tactic on the dealerships part because it got me in the door the same day. Next car from the same dealership I would just go in even lower I guess!

I've been following this thread from page 1. From what I've seen, you're about in the same range as others who have quoted their prices for similarly outfitted trucks. You might not be getting a steal of a deal, but you're not getting ripped off either.

If I were in your shoes, I'd look at it as a trade-off between how much money you might save versus how much mental and emotional energy you'd have to put in to get those savings. For some people, they're happy putting in all sorts of energy to save an extra few hundred dollars. Personally, as long as the price is fair I'd take it and go invest that mental energy into something else productive in your life.
